I want a partial hysterectomy (uterus only) but my doctor is recommended that i get everything taken out and put me on HRT. I think this is defeating the purpose since i have had adverse effects from being on the pill. Has anyone had a complete done and taken HRT and have had any side effects? Has anyone just had a partial to assist with their endometriosis without the HRT? Are there any studies linking HRT with cancer or other diseases? Serious answers only from people who have had the procedure…no opinions please or inane comments about my disease or decision. (i already know a hysterectomy isnt a cure for endometriosis)

I took provera 20mg for 7 days, I finished taking it on the 30th October so its been one week and two days. I have back aches and sore boobs for a few days but nothing yet.

I have a 9 month old baby and now when she is waking up at 2:00 am all over again. Problem is I cant go back to sleep at all. I’m 40 yrs old and I’m starting to think this is because I may be starting menopause. Anyone going through this?

Im 10 weeks and 3 days and have had spotting through the entire pregnancy and yesterday i had bleeding like a period went to the dr. baby is bouncing all around and the heartbeat is 167 doctor said everything is fine i just have a tear in the placenta which is causing the placenta he gave me the progesterone to use twice a day for 2 weeks to see if it helps the placenta repair itself…has anyone had this happen and was it a success story?? Im just a worried mommy!

headaches, depression, or anxiety? I’m trying to figure out my problems. I was on BC a few years ago but got off of it because it made me feel really weird and very depressed. since then i haven’t taken any BC cuz i’m scared it will do the same thing. I think i have a hormonal imbalance, and i think it’s causing some health problems. So can it cause what i listed?

I’m 26 years old and have not had my period since last July. I spotted just ONE time back around March but nothing since. (it was so light that i barely noticed it at first)

I stopped my birth control last July because i couldn’t afford it and for awhile i just assumed that it takes awhile to get regular again after going off the pill.

but it’s been almost a year now and i still haven’t gotten it. my pap smear was normal and when i expressed my concerns to my OB/GYN she didn’t act concerned….

also, i have a majority of the symptoms! The hot flashes (ugh so freaking annoying) and increased anxiety and irritability (but i’m bipolar so i think the irritabilty is related to that) but i have all the classic symptoms of menopause! what the heck?

Is it because the medical research community is dominated by men? I have read that there is sexism when it comes to research because more research is given to men’s health issues as opposed to women’s health issues. Actually it’s seems pretty obvious to me because you would think in this day in age, menopause can be stopped.

I thought this (male menopause) only happened to older guys, but he has all the symptoms. He went to a urologist once because of erectile dysfunction and (without any tests) was told his problems were all "in his head". He was very discouraged by this (and frustrated!) and I’ve managed to talk him into seeing a doctor again. He wants me there to talk to the doctor as well. What can we say or do to make the doctor take us seriously and really look into this? And what should the doctor be looking for?

Im going into the hospital tomorrow to have a vaginal hysterectomy. I have surgery one time before but that was only for a laparoscopy. I would like to know from women who have had this surgery before and their experiences on the surgery. On a scale of 1-10 how painful was it. Please just let me know anything you can share.

If im a guy with a lot of fat on his butt and thighs and hips, but a lean and narrow upper body, does that mean im high on estrogen? Would taking tesosterone supplements or shots make my fat redistribute to normal male areas? I hate having such a big fat butt that sticks out and is disproportionate, and yet lean everywhere else. I also have wide hips.

Me and my partner had unprotected sex, I worked out it would have been at my time of ovulation. However, I’m not quite ready for a child so I took the morning after pill. I’m worried it didn’t work because I feel pregnant. Usually my body is like clock work, and I was 6 days late for my period. Then when it came it was abnormally heavy with clotting for a day and then incredibly light, hardly anything.

Also my boobs feel alot fuller, my nipples are more pronounced and bigger. I feel quite bloated. It would have been about the 24th of april when we had sex, so i’m wondering if it’s a bit early for these symtoms. My sex drive has been through the roof as well, I’ve been having hot flushes.

I’m really worried. I took 2 pregnancy tests and the first one didn’t work and the second was negative apart from tiny little dots forming a bit of a cross. It was really minute and didn’t complete the whole line. like 3 dots or something.

Anyway, I’m wondering if I am pregnant of perhaps could have had a very early miscarage?

Trust me, I have seen several (male and female) and since they haven’t gone there themselves, they tend to dismiss it as a lack-luster cold. Help, please, somebody.
