Are there any non-medicinal ways to deal with the mood swings that a women has during menopause?
I have always been a very loving and easy going person. But since I have started through the change of life, I find myself getting mad about just about anything. You can look at me wrong and I fly off the handle. And I don’t like myself very much after I have one of my fits. My doctor has suggested an anti-depressant, but I don’t want to have to take medicine to feel better. Plus the stuff is very expensive. Thanks everyone who replies. Have a great night all.

3. For help with depression, spend about an hour outdoors everyday, rain or shine. Your bedroom should be so dark when you sleep that you cannot see your hand in front of your face. This helps create endorphins and the other hormone (can’t think of the name) that affect depression.
I recommend that you do not rule out anti-depressants altogether. There are some good ones on the market and your doctor will find the right one for you. It takes about seven weeks to "kick in" and your doctor may have to "tweek" the dosage. I’ve taken them for years for clinical depression and have experienced no side effects.

P.S. Service to others is a good way to cheer you up, even if it’s only a smile or opening a door for someone.
Exercises
yep, sports could do.
My wife has the same problem. While I try to avoid steping on her toes, I’ve noticed that Western Classicals have a soothing effect on her. Maybe you could check to see ifsome variety of music helps you as well.
Cheers and good luck!
Very expensive indeed! Try walking…even if it’s only 15-20 mins a day. It will help ease any stress, and is a great way to get mad and "fly off the handle." You can stomp all you want on the pavement, and no one will care. Good luck to you.
