The cream that is prescribed is probably closer to what a person would make naturally, while the creams you can buy (at places like GNC) won't have the same amount of hormone quantity. It's like having Tylenol versus Tylenol 3 (which is prescription strength) Tylenol works, but when you are prescribed Tylenol 3 there is a reason for it.
