Most contraceptive pills/enjections etc seem to have different effects on period length, and I guess it depends on the person as well. I used to have 4 day periods naturally off the pill and then when I went on the oral pill they lasted 6-7 days (was not happy about this). My cousin had no period at all on deop-provera and she loved it. Can have some side effects in some people (me) over time – just watch if you start to become irritable and a bit of a crazy woman – could be the injection, or pills in general.
Oh yes! I was on that for 3 years and eventually I did not have a period at all. It is totally normal on depo to not have a period. And it is safe too, think back to when woman had babies all the time, they hardly ever had periods because they were always pregnant…at least that is the way my gyno explained it. They say not to stay on it for more than 3 years, and it could take a couple months longer after you stop it to get pregnant (think about it, you only get it every 3 months, so it would be hard to get pregnant within 3 months of stopping). Hope that helps!
