Clomid users, is prescribing progesterone cream normal?
I’m going on my third round of Clomid at 150 mg. I ovulated last month but did not get pregnant. When my doctor called in my prescription this week she called to tell me that they would be putting me on a progesterone cream. I had to go online and look up what it was for because the phone nurse didn’t tell me. I asked a friend of mine, who is also using Clomid and is ovulating, if they had put her on the same thing. i just assumed it was used as a little extra help to make a pregnancy stick. My friend told me that they never put her on it and that the only reason they would put me on the cream was if they believed that the egg was being fertilized but that the uterus wasn’t accepting the egg. I’m going to call the doctor’s office tomorrow to get some more info, but i wanted other people’s input as well. What’s the deal with the progesterone cream? Why would they prescribe it to me? What exactly does it do?

i am on my second round of clomid and will be getting progesterone injections after ovulation, this will help me not to bleed early as my last cycle i got my period 6 days after ovulation so the egg didnt even get time to implant!
so it helps to stop an early period and to sustain early preg and minimise miscarriage. Good luck and yes having progesterone along with clomid is very normal!!
this question should be answered by your doctor.
