Did you take Lupron? Do you have health problems after this treatment?
I received 6 Lupron injections for Endometriosis. The medication did not help. After the 6 month treatment I got back pain. MRI showed that my back has a disk desiccation, degeneration and a central protrusion, but only old people have this. With Lupron I had artificial menopause. This could have caused the injury and dissolved my disc. It is a permanent and painful injury. That side effect was not listed. I could not know that this medication was that dangerous. My back is forever injured and I will have back pain for the rest of my life. Now I feel disabled. The pharmaceutical company may be responsible for my injury because the drug could have caused it and there was no warning.

Several years ago, yes I took Depo Lupron injections for Endometriosis..other than the hot flashes, I did get relief.
I had taken Lupron for the same reason, it also gave me temporary menopause for 6 months and then I decided to get off of it.
Since then, I have had bad problems with my knee joints and haven't been able to become pregnant.
If we were to believe the docs and Takeda Abbott Pharmaceutical's fancy marketing literature and website(s), we'd all think Lupron was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
It's not. This horrendous drug needs to be removed from the market, but TAP is so busy bribing doctors to use it, that it will probably continue on as it has been for the last 15 yrs.
It's used for many different uses, both approved and not approved ("off-label"), including Endometriosis, fibroids, alzheimer's (imagine that, since it CAUSES memory loss), central precocious puberty, IVF protocols and prostate cancer, for which it was originally developed and intended for use.
Lupron is a bandaid that does not in any way clear up or cure the condition for which it is being used. Take Endometriosis, for example, which comprises one if its greatest user groups. All it does is temporarily suppress the hormones, thereby – in theory – offering temporary relief of the disease. It does not offer relief in many who use it, and quelling of the hormones is not a cure for Endometriosis. Were that true, removal of the ovaries would be all that was needed and we know that's not the case. Same idea for use in fibroids – it is not in any way curative.
Side effects of Lupron are potentially extremely negative and long-lasting, and include (as reported by the manufacturer itself, not just those who hate the drug) Asthenia, General pain, Headache, Hot flashes/sweats, Nausea/vomiting, GI disturbances, Edema, Weight gain/loss, Acne, Hirsutism, Joint disorder, Myalgia, Decreased libido, Depression/emotional lability, Dizziness, Nervousness, Neuromuscular disorders, Paresthesias, Skin reactions at injection site, Breast changes/tenderness/pain, Vaginitis, Flu-like symptoms, Heart palpitations, Syncope, Tachycardia, Appetite changes, Dry mouth, Thirst, Ecchymosis, Lymphadenopathy, Anxiety, Insomnia/Sleep disorders, Delusions, Memory disorder, Personality disorders, Rhinitis, Alopecia, Hair disorder, Nail disorder, Conjunctivitis, Ophthalmologic disorders, Taste perversion, and Dysuria. And that's just a few. Check the prescribing literature or check a PDR for the long list.
There have been several lawsuits against TAP, including the largest one in federal history against a pharmaceutical company – $875 million, prosecuted under the RICO statutes (racketeer influenced criminal organization) for the kickbacks they gave prescribers to give the med to their patients. The payments are STILL ongoing. Unfortunately, while that lawsuit was huge and brought justice, it did not bring justice to those who are suffering the horrific long-term side effects, because the suits were about pricing not side effects. But you're not alone – see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/erc and talk to thousands of others who have suffered as you have.
Good luck to you and may this company one day be brought to its knees for what it's been doing to patients – and the doctors who don't believe the side effects right along with it.
I was on Lupron for endometriosis and I only made it 3 months. It is the worst drug I have ever encountered and I strongly recommend women look at every alternative before going on it. Below is a list of the major symptoms that I had. My doctor (ans esp. his staff) were not interested in the side effects and they basically treated me like a complainer. I spoke with TAP (the drug maker) and they also didn't care.
Here's some of the major symptoms I had:
1. Hot flashes (to be expected)
2. Night sweats (also to be expected)
3. Memory loss
4. Severe headaches. These were nonstop for the 3 months I was on this drug.
5. Dry heaves and/or vomiting after I ingested anything. I lost 16 pounds in 3 months.
6. Anxiety (I never had these problems before)
7. I couldn't sleep at all. I would take 4-6 Tyenol PMs every night just to get about 3-4 hours of sleep.
8. I would get a fluttering in my chest that would emanate out to the rest of my body just before a hot flash. This would sometimes take my breath away.
9. I became very moody and would cry at anything.
10. I got a couple of UTIs even though I wasn't sexually active and have had no history of UTIs before.
11. My body would ache all over.
Well, that's enough to paint the picture! BTW, the Lupron did nothing to help with my pain even though it did stop my periods. My doctor put my on HRT and then my periods returned! I was 26 at the time I was on this and I'm 30 now. The BCP have been much better even though I still have pain. Truthfully I'd rather deal with the daily pain of endo than to ever go back on Lupron again.
Note: there are other GnRH agonists out there that your doctor may prescribe. They are Synarel (nasal spray) and Zolodez (subcutaneous implant). Since these are in the same class they are expected to have similar side effects. Don't let the doctors try to push those on you instead without doing the research.
Homeopathy :-
Take SULFUR 200C just one dose per day first thing in the morning and take ARNICA 200C and RHUS TOX 200C together 3 hours after Sulphur, Take Arnica and Rhus Tox thrice a day for three days and after that just once a day till you are feeling 100%cured . These will make your back injuries feel lots better even if they dont cure you 100% and with no side effects or complications. Report back with your progress after three days of taking them soon you will be up and about and feeling well !
Take Care and God Bless.
Sue.
