I don’t understand what getting married or being virgins has to do with it, but if she feels the need to see one then she should go – this is a decision for her, not you.
YES!
You should start getting regular gyno exams when you’re 16, even if you are not sexually active. There are plenty of conditions you can have even if you’re a virgin.
I had a complex ovarian cyst when I was 15, as a virgin. They never would have found it before it twisted if not for my gyno exam. By the way – a twisted ovary is extremely painful. Not something you want to risk.
It is just as important as your yearly physical.
If your GP is qualified for perform gynecological exams, than that’s fine. If not, then see a gyno.
Yes, I would definitely suggest she go and see her her OBGYN. Not only can it alert her to any possible hidden problems that she may have, but it also gives her a definite clean bill of health. Plus, since she will soon be sexually active, she will need to have a yearly pap smear anyways…
Also, if she wants contraceptive then she has to go through her gyno (which requires an exam). Always a good idea to guard against accidental pregnancies until you’re ready for children, right?
Anyways, it will be safer for her to see her gyno.
