hormonal imbalance scare?
okay, so i’m only 16 but apparently i’ve been told by my doctor that i have a hormonal imbalance.
now, ive been prescribed a birth control that i’ll start taking sunday[Yazmin i think its called]. i was only there [at the doctors] to get the blood tests, and only my mom was there when she found out i had to start taking birth control. therefore, i wasnt able to ask the doctor any questions, and my dimwitted mother didnt care to ask any either.
now, im really scared because i have no idea what this can do to my body, and many people have told me that they found it odd that i was prescribed birth control for a hormonal imbalance. its nothing to be taken lightly, which is something my mom doesnt understand.
so my questions are:
-what are the risks of taking birth control just for a hormonal imbalance? [since im not sexually active]
-are there any other cures for hormonal imbalances?
-is there anything i should know before i start taking them?
any kind of help would be much appreciated. i feel very lost and scared right now and i dont know what to do. so thanks in advance C=
also, im not too trusting of my doctor. i went complaining about my back one time and she said nothing was wrong. but when i went to get an x-ray, turns out i have Scoliosis….

it could help the hormonal imbalance because birth control balances your estrogen and hormone level so that you wont ovulate, meaning you wont release an egg. thats the only thing i can think of as to why he prescribed you birth control, everything should be okay, your doctor knows what hes doing, dont worry
-what are the risks of taking birth control just for a hormonal imbalance? [since im not sexually active] There is nothing to worry about in that area, many girls who are not sexually active take birth control for menstrual regulation and relief…hormonal balance I’m not sure, but I assue it has to do with your estrogen levels, should be fine.
-are there any other cures for hormonal imbalances? I have no idea.
-is there anything i should know before i start taking them? Just listen to what your doctor told me. If you aren’t trusting of your doctor maybe go to a health unit and talk to someone there and if you have questions go to the doctor and ask your mother to wait outside.
