IVF Treatment. Would she have a chance?
My mother wishes to have another child but my further has had a operation to stop him having children. My mother had an operation where they remove a thin layer of lining from the womb which has put her into early menopause, she is 36 but desperately wants another child. She still has a womb and obviously lining but would she have a chance with IVF? Thanks.

She would need to meet with a fertility specialist to discuss her options. IVF is a possibility as she has a uterus but the concerns are that being in menopause she may NOT have viable eggs unless she would be open to a donor egg. The other concern is the uterine lining – it may not be thick enough to allow the embryo implant and grow. Some medications may help but once again, she would need to discuss her specific situation with a specialist. The issues for your father are that he has been through a vasectomy. He will also have to meet with the specialist and see if a reversal is possible or if they can surgically remove sperm and then use it for the IVF cycle. If not, they may also need to consider a sperm donor.
There are way too many "ifs" for anyone to answer in their unique situation. IVF is possible if everything lines up right for them but they may need to be open to not having a biological child through the use of a donor egg or donor sperm. It is also an extremely expensive procedure that can be tough on the body, mind and spirit – it really is draining and so much is invested in it . . . yet there are no guarantees for a successful pregnancy.
Best wishes!
