Well you are about the age for Menopause to start up. It will usually begin by giving you irregular periods, and the periods will become lighter. 2 weeks is nothing that’s about half a cycle. when period stops completely that is menopause.
You are probably in peri-menopause. These are the years before you stop having your period and are no longer able to have kids. It could be that you have reached the years of perimenopause when the monthly cycle becomes very erratic and you may go many months without a cycle and then suddenly have a period that may last weeks or months then stop for a few days and start up again. This is due to the decrease in hormones which fluctuate wildly. Ask you doctor for a blood test which detects the levels of FSH [Follicle Stimulating Hormone] which are very high in postmenopausal women.
