Menopause questions – Help!?
I just hit 45 yrs. My periods had become bad, etc. The OBGYN wanted to perform a hysterectomy. I changed my mind on that because my period ceased for two months and now it’s very little. This has all started around late last summer. My moods are depressed and I am constantly angry and anxious. Very ethargic as well. Can anyone tell me if menopause caused these symptoms for them and any solutions? I will be seeing the doc again as well. Also, how long will this last? Thanks in advnce!

I think you should talk to your doctor about how you are feeling and see if there is anything you could take for the moods and anxiety. You might need an antidpressant or anti-anxiety med. I went through an early menopause at 42 and I still have the effects of it at 50. I feel LESS emotional actually, and I suffer from hot flashes and then getting very cold all of a sudden. It’s like my body thermostat has gone haywire. An older co-worker of mine recommended soy to me and it does seem to help a lot. You can put soy powder on cereal or drink soy milk. Every woman is different. My boyfriend’s mother makes me mad when she says she never had any effects from menopause at all. She tells my bf I make up how I feel. No one can really answer how long it will last. I know women that barely realized they were going through it and women who have suffered a lot. I thought periods sucked, but I would like to have them back since I felt physically better on the whole with them. You just have to find ways of dealing, figure out what works for you. Exercise actually helps me – riding a bike a few times a week helps relieve stress.
It could be pre-menopause but it sounds to me like depression. Depression and stress can cause you to have all sort of symptoms including an irregular period. Talk to your DR about this, there are a lot of medications that can help as well as therapy. If it is Pre-menopause then you can make the choice to start on hormopne replacement therapy after you weight the side effects etc. Good luckhope you feel better!
A woman is menopausal after her periods have stopped for one year. Menopause typically occurs in a woman’s late forties to early fifties. It is a normal part of aging, marking the end of a woman’s reproductive years.More information and remedies at http://useinfo4.blogspot.com/
