He may have low sugars during the night.
He should see his doctor asap.
Night sweats can be a sign of a serious medical condition. Have him go to the doctor and find out what’s causing them.
Night sweats are a common occurrence and there is usually no obvious reason for the sweating. It is seldom a sign of a medical problem, but there are numerous medical conditions that cause night sweats. If sweating is the only symptom, its probably OK to let this go, but if any other symptoms have developed at the same time, it would be a good idea for him to see a doc.
It is true that Night sweats can indicate underlying disease processes.
They also may indicate less ominous things.
Night sweats can also indicate medication reactions like low blood sugar in diabetics.
It would not help him with so little information to guess what it could be.
His age, his weight, his state of health, his current other symptoms and medications all need to be reviewed for a diagnosis to be made.
I vote for a Dr’s appointment!
Night sweats can be caused by a great number of things. Most are not serious…however it can also be a sign of TB, lymphoma and other fairly serious conditions. I would recommend he get this checked out…it most likely will be nothing sinister but you are better safe than sorry!
Hope he is ok.
