pErIoD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
i’m wondering if periods are genetic.
What i am saying is, will i have the same cyle as my mother.
She has a heavy period for 3 days and I am the same way.
Also she started around the same time as she did.
Does this sound very genetic?

lol. it’s not genetic at all.
it’s just that when u hang around other women, you attune to their period cycles. that’s just how it is. lol. i have no idea, but i read it somewhere. and it’s true!!
Yes it does sound genetic but it might not be. You never know
It is supposed to be genetic you either start around the time when an older sister or your mother do and it is always the same flow.
Do you mean you started at the same age? Or you have your cycle around the same time? Because if you have your cycles around the same time, it’s because of pheromones. You’ll notice if you live with roommates whenever you’re older, you’ll all have your periods around the same time. Kind of cool, kind of annoying. :p
Everyone is different. Sometimes they are genetic sometimes not. You sound like you are. i am too because me and my mom both have terrible cramps.
I’m guessing there’s not a lot of studies done on this so it’s anyone’s guess. I suppose there’s always the chance that genetics plays a role, but your body is unique and it works in its own way. If you’re living with your mum and sister you are likely to line up your cycle with them to create the illusion of "sameness". ….
having said that, I do think it’s interesting that women who "superovulate", (that is, shoot out more than one egg per month and increase their chances of conceiving fraternal twins) is considered to be genetic. When ppl say "there’s twins in my family so I might have them too" they should say "my mum is a superovulater so I might be too". So if that can be genetic then why not the pattern of your period?
