I started puberty way earlier than my friends did. While they didn’t grow boobs until 13, I had my period at 10 years old. For awhile I felt much more mature not only physically but mentally too.

In high school, it suddenly hit me. I constantly asked that question to some of my friends. Some said yes, others said no.

So would starting my period early mean I will start menopause early?

Am I going through the change of life?

I am seeing a gynecologist this coming week.

I am 37. For the past eight months, my periods have gone down from 3 days and moderate flow to 1 day and very light. I am not pregnant; this we know for 200% sure. Also, for the past eight months, I will have hot flashes (some days I have them all day, while other days I might have them just a couple of times a day). In addition, whereas in the past I would feel rageful and suicidally depressed just two or three days’ before my period, this time the only time I don’t feel this way is on the day of my period and three days’ after; the other 25 days of the month, I either feel meaner than a snake or suicidally depressed. My primary care doctor thinks I’m starting to go through perimenopause in the very, very early stages. Do these symptoms sound like the earmarks of the beginning of the change of life?

(NOTE: I have never beared children nor do I plan to do so. I would rather have the above symptoms for 10 years than to be pregnant for nine months and give birth.)

I’m 32 and had a tubal ligation 8 years ago due to miscarriages, and the premature birth of my son. After that I completely lost my sex drive etc… What side effects should i be prepared for, I haven’t taken any type of birth control in 10 years and i don’t know what to expect in my situation. Any info or heads up would be great.
Thanks

Had a hysterectomy 10 years ago but my ovaries were left in. I am now experiencing hot flashes and night sweats and I have been given conflicting information as to what kind of hormone therapy I would go on. I have been told that estrogen is the only thing I need. Also, are patches, gels, and or creams just as good as taking a pill because I have read that if you have high triglycerides avoid a pill if possible so it doesn’t have to process through your liver. Any help would be wonderful. I am now taking estroven and extra soy, but not sure this will be enough.

I have suffered from painful dysmenorrhoa and endometriosis since the age of 13, but barely got diagnosed last year when i had a laparoscopy where they removed an ovarian cyst. I have been on the pill for almost 10 years and am afraid of the long term affects they may have on my body. My periods have not improved; i get sick all over again once i stop taking the pills and at one time developed cysts in my breast due to the type of pills taken. My husband and I have decided we do not want children; i have a great career and can finally afford college and get my degree in photography. Children are nice, but i have no desire to give birth; to be honest, to adopt an orphan or foster child thrills me more than anything and seems to be the right thing to do. But when i discuss having a partial hysterectomy, even with my condition, i am easily dismissed. What do you recommend I do to get what I have considered for years as a health option for myself?

I have a large home but only 2 people. after 10 minutes the hot water is not gone but I can no longer make it hotter. I flushed the system recently and it seems as though that was not the issue. I would think that I could take a shower for an hour and not have a problem as I am having. It is 10 years old.

I’m in the late stages of perimenopause, and now I’m having "Phantom Periods." These phantom periods come with all of the symptoms of a regular period, including cramps, low back ache, joint and muscle pain, bloating, severe PMS, etc. but no bleeding. And, no, I’m not pregnant, because I had my tubes tied years ago. I get hot flashes too, but, overall, they aren’t as bad as they were a few years ago. Plus, my moods are seeming to mellow a bit.

My question is how long will the phantom period symptoms last? Will I continue to have menstrual symptoms? Will it get better soon?

I’ve suffered a severe perimenopause that has lasted a good 10+ years. I had chaotic heavy periods coming at all times of the month for many years–sometimes as many as 3 periods a month. And then, they became somewhat normal for the past year, only the length of time between them was only 21 days (they used to be 28 days or more). Now, I’ve evolved to this stage where I’m skipping periods. So it’s doubtlessly almost done. And to me that’s a blessing.

Please tell me about your experience with menopause. I’d love to know how long you were in this stage before your periods stopped completely and when and if the symptoms began to subside.

Thanks!

Menstrual question???

OK, don’t read any further if you don’t like grossness. I’ve been on Depo-Provera for over 10 years. My period has come back now since I haven’t had a shot for a while. Why is it that even though I don’t have cramps, I have horrible diarrhea whenever Aunt Flow decides to show up?? It’s such a mess down there. I’m in my 30′s, when can I expect perimenopause?

Peri Menopause?

Around what age does menopause symptoms begin. I’m only 31, but I have been experiencing strange periods – one month normal, the next one heavy, this month hardly any at all. I have also started to become irregular. I used to be able to tell exactly when they would be coming by the calendar, now it can vary by a week or more. Is there another explination or have I begun peri menapause? I’m also experienceing weight gain, minor hot flashes. (I get hot, but I"m not dying of heat like my mother seemed to do – she was 40 when she hit full blown menopause, but I’ve heard symptoms can start up to 10 years earlier. Can this be what’s happening?)

I believe I am going thru peri-menopause, witch is bad enough, but over the last few weeks I’ve noticed that I don’t get hunger pains anymore, instead I feel like my blood sugar drops and I feel weak, food used to help, but lately, all it does is make the nasea worse for a short time, and then I get VERY tired.I’m only 36, I’ve had 5 pregnancies(2 miscarriages-3 healthy kids) I’ve had minor sleep disorder issues all my life, I’ve always been a bad eater, sometimes too much, sometimes not enough, I’ve worked graveyard shifts most of my life, (to avoid not working, and/or daycare costs)I don’t exercise enough, witch I am working on, because I just finished moveing from one state to another, I’ve had a stressfull life in general, but I have preety good copeing skills, and my life is the most stres free it’s ever been.I have not had insurance, or even seen a doctor in almost 10 years, (part of the reason I moved)I just wonder if the nasea thing is normal, or is there a way to reverse it?

Night sweats?

I’ve just started experiencing night sweats. I am post-menopausal. Haven’t had a period in 10 years. Are there other medical issues I should be addressing?

What is causing my night sweats?

I am 10 years menopausal. In the past 6 months I have woken up each morning sweating. Could this be a symptom of something I’m not aware of? I have diabetes Type 2, hypothyriodism, hyperlipidism, high blood pressure, and a history of migraines. I monitor myself at home and everything is alright except for blood sugar readings steadily climbing up to 200 with oral meds, diet, and exercise. Any suggestions?

The facility I have been driving to for over 10 years is in Augusta, Georgia. He is kind, but very expensive and the drive is about 4 hours and my car is feeling the ill effects of overuse.

HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) pellets used for the treatment of loss of hormones. Mine due to the removal of ovaries and such 13 years ago because of familial ovarian cancer.
