I have been taking Cymbalta (anti-depressant), but I also am in peri-menopause. I have been very forgetful and was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this. I thought I heard that one of Cymbalta’s side effects is forgetfulness, but I also thought it could be symptoms of peri-menopause. Sometimes in the middle of a sentence/or story, I forget what I was going to say!! Please help

What are the side effects of HRT's?

In the past few months I stopped taking my anti-depressant because I was still depressed and angry all the time. So I went to my Ob-Gyn and he started giving me hormone shots and Provera. Now it’s like I can’t get enough sex. It’s become an obsession which would be fine if I were married or had a b/f. But I don’t, so without the details I’m taking some serious risk with my health and life to take care of these urges. Anyone else experience anything like this with HRT? Serious replies appreciated.

menopause medication?

I had a full radical hysterectomy 6 months ago and the doctor has not given me any medication for hormone replacement therapy. I should add that I had uterine cancer and am only 34 years old. He said that he could not prescribe me estrogen because of having cancer, something about the chances for repeat cancer if I do take it. I’m just looking for something over the counter that I might be able to use to help with the symptoms of menopause. He wanted to put me on an anti depressant and I don’t want to go that route, I’m not depressed, I’m just HOT, lol. Any suggestions?

I have always been a very loving and easy going person. But since I have started through the change of life, I find myself getting mad about just about anything. You can look at me wrong and I fly off the handle. And I don’t like myself very much after I have one of my fits. My doctor has suggested an anti-depressant, but I don’t want to have to take medicine to feel better. Plus the stuff is very expensive. Thanks everyone who replies. Have a great night all.

How do I stop having horrible night sweats?

I wake up EVERY morning with the sheets soaked, top and bottom. I’ve tried taking my birth control at a different time, I’ve switched my Lexapro (anti-depressant) from morning to night time. I’m miserable. Can somebody please help me?

How do you deal with work and menopause hormones?

My mom works a commission only job that is stressful. She has ADD and is on an anti-depressant. She has also been going through menopause for a few years.. which is severely affecting her hormones. She is cryish and extra sensitive. When she got her hormone levels tested at the doctor they said she was normal.

What are some ways for her to cope with this… maybe a special vitamin or supplement?

My doctor and I have decided not to treat with hormone replacement-she told me to up my anti-depressant milligrams, but that hasn’t helped at all. Anywhere from 8-10 hot flashes a day-where I become drenched in sweat. HELP PLEASE!
