I have really horrible cramps. Midol used to work, but recently it doesn’t. My doctor prescribed me pain killers, and I ran out so I decided to just go to a gynecologist. What options might she offer me? I know birth control pills are one. Also, could there be anything wrong with me that i’m getting usch bad cramps or is it normal?
to Princess: I’m already 18 years old almost 19. I know how periods work. My periods are very regular..I just have bad cramps.

I’m 17 years old and am interested in getting birth control for period irregularity and acne. I’m a virgin and have not done anything sexual. Is a pap smear necessary?

I am currently taking microgestin birth control which contains estrogen in it, and I wanted to take the breast enhancement pill Revitabust. Is it ok to take the two together? Since my birth control has estrogen in it, will Revitabust prevent me from conceiving? Would I be able to have a baby once I stop using the product? Has anyone taken Revitabust first hand? Does it work?

I started the Nuva Ring in September. Since then, my moods during my periods have gotten out of control. I have never been the kind of person to have severe period symptoms, but now, it’s ridiculous and it seems to get worse every month!
Help!
Does anyone else have this problem? Can anyone suggest another form of birth control that is super easy and doesn’t cause side effects?

I’ve been taking Tylenol 3 for pain and im on the "mini pill" a progesterone only pill. Since I was breastfeeding. I stopped breastfeeding and continued taking both medications. About a week and a half ago I started feeling nauseous and now whenever I smell food I want to vomit. Obviously I know pregnancy symptoms but that’s not my question. Can Tylenol with codine affect the birth control.

Actually, Chinese scientists are working on a male contraceptive shot that has the same effectiveness of the the female birth control pill. So if both genders have availability to effective birth control, would this change how men and women view sexual responsibility?

I’ve been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 6 months now and I have been with my boyfriend for about a year. We started having sex about 4 months ago and we were each other’s first sex partners. I’m having problems getting turned on by him and I have never reached orgasm. I don’t know if it’s my birth control or my boyfriend because he is really upset about not being able to pleasure me and we’re trying. Any tips? Can it be the BC? I asked Planned Parenthood and they said that it was common for BC users to lose their sex drive and I’m on the lowest estrogen dose possible. Please help.

I am not expecting my period for another week and a half. I have been on birth control for about 5 months now, and a week ago a missed a pill. The next day I doubled up as instructed, but I know that that can cause spotting. How long after I miss my pill would the spotting happen?

I’m 23 and I’ve had a lot of the side effects that birth control pills cause. Next week I’m going to talk to a gynecologist about lowering my dosage of birth control pills and eventually quitting. I also want to talk to him about getting a tubal ligation, because I don’t want kids. Ever. I’ve always known that.
I want to get the tubal ligation after I quit birth control pills though.
How should I talk to him about these things?

I just had my annual gynecological exam a few days ago, and I expresed a worry that I might be pregant. I take birth control and my boyfriend uses condoms, but my last period seemed a little strange. The doctor didn’t believe he needed to do a pregnancy test, but I am still worried. Is there a way he could have known by feel if I were pregnant? Should I take a test anyway, or am I being paranoid?
I’ve been on the pill for about 4 years, and I take it religiously. My period was very light, but it lasted about as long as it normally does. I was told that it’s typical for people who have been on the pill to have a light or even no period, but in my 4 years of taking it I have never experienced it.

I’m considering becoming a natural family planning teacher. I would teach a method called Billings, which is quite simple and helps either avoid pregnancy or become pregnant. I would like to teach it not only in a church setting but also to the general public (like in a community college). I just wonder if women would be interested. Thanks.
I would like to add that I use this method instead of birth control and it works great (I think the success rate is 99%).

I am taking birth control since I was 15 years old. Now I am 25. I moved and I started to go to another walk-in clinic to renew my prescription every 6 months. I’ve been going to that clinic for a year now. Last time I had this doctor that I never saw before and he wanted to give me a physical/gynecological exam and I didn’t want to at that time so he gave me 3 months worth of my prescription and yesterday I had to go back because I am out of it and he didn’t want to give my any!!! All because I didn’t do my physical. That doctor knows me for like 3 months and now he gave me 1 month worth of pill and after that what??? Can he force me to do that??? It’s so stupid! He would prefer me to be pregnant than not have a physical! I’m so mad.
Wow look at ALL those nice answers from mens!! Put hey here for you guys! Do YOU get a physical-genital exam every year? You know where they put that long stick in your penis? Please gimme a break, you have NO idea what a woman feel like and have no right to comment on my decision. My question was simple as if a doctor can force you as that was it. The rest is MY business.

My current endocrinologist doesn’t have much experience when it comes to HRT for transsexuals. I would like to enlighten him how much I should be taking being a trans-woman. I get a 150mg every three months as regular women on birth control. Is this a significant amount? Or am I being limited?
