Has anyone tried Maca?

I am presently taking black cohosh and wild yam root to alleviate symptoms of menopause. I am having to take large quantities to get any relief.
Maca has a nice reviews but would like to hear from someone that has actually used it for menopausal symptoms.

BTW …I am not a HRT candidate as I have had 2 heart attacks.

I’m going through the menopause at the moment, and I’ve had hot flushes for the past two or three years. At first I tried Black Cohosh, that worked for about 6 mths. Then I got it in liquid form which also worked for 6 mths. I’ve tried other remadies from the chemist too but nothing works anymore. I can’t go onto HRT because of cancer in the family. I can’t wear light coloured clothes or tight tops cos of the perspiration. I’m really fed up with this now. Sometimes I when I wake up my bed is soaking wet from sweating. Can somebody please help me ?????????

I am 49, and have severe hot flashes and night sweats four or five times a night. I started taking black cohosh, but am afraid of the side affects, if any. I am taking 450 mg pills every night at dinner. Is this safe?

Black cohosh?

Im 33 weeks pregnant and Ive been slowly slipping into labor on and off! And when I was talking to a friend about natural things to do to try and stall me going into premature labor until I was due, Her friend interupts and tells me to take black cohosh tablets! And I told her that I thought that Black Cohosh helped start up labor, she said it was only if you took a large amount! And that a small amout would just help relax my uterus! (I think she is full of crap) But to top it off, she told me not to tell my Doc about taking them if I decide to! But I am willing to do anything to post pone my labor! So if anyone who knows if this is true and not just bull crap, please let me know! I plan on talking to my Doctor about it Tuesday but I need a little bit more input! I personally think that Black Cohosh does the complete opposite of what this lady is telling me! Im willing to do anything to stop early labor if possible! But Im not willing to harm my Baby! Thank you in Advance!

I have been using black Cohosh, Red Clover and Dong Quai for a year now but that is not working any more. I do not like convention medicine and what I’m interested in is herbal/home made remedies.

I’ve tried low dose prozac and black cohosh. Only caused upset stomach and nausea. Did you weigh the pros and cons and the risks before starting treatment? Thanks for any input that anyone may give me.

Help with problem of hot flushes please!?

Hi. I am at that stage of my life where I am now getting lots of hot flushes and although during the day I can cope with this, it is ruining my sleep. I have not had a full nights sleep for nearly a year and I need my sleep!

I have tried one or two natural remedies but have found nothing that seems to be really effective yet and wondered if anyone else has tried anything that has really worked?

I don’t want to go to the Doctor as I am not ill, I just want a natural remedy which I could buy over the counter. What I’m really looking for is a personal recommendation of a product which you have found to work.

I would love any help you can offer.

Thanks.
Thanks everyone. I have ordered some Black Cohosh so hope this helps me.

What herb(s) would help with a hormonal imbalance?

I’m wanting to avoid going to a dr. as much as I can so I’m wanting to know any kind of herbs that are good for balancing hormones for a woman. And are Saw Palmetto, and Black Cohosh good for it? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
