Hi, I’m 22 years old and I recently just started having sex (which is still unbearably painful for me.) I’ve tried sex with my boyfriend a total of maybe, 6-7 times within a span of 3 months. I only say I’ve "tried" sex because I can never seem to carry the whole thing through without massive amounts of pain (it’s not my hymenal tissue, that’s been eroded a while ago) even though I’m always aroused and lubricated enough. I’m mostly going to the dr because of this problem (thinking it might be that I’m still just fresh to sex so it still hurts or it could be dyspareunia.) I want to know what to expect, can anyone tell me exactly what happens during a gyno exam? Do they check your breasts too? How do they do everything? Would my boyfriend be allowed in the room? Can I choose a female doctor? More over, will it hurt because sex is already painful enough for me, will the speculum be the same thing? My bf has not yet been able to get all the way inside of me due to all the pain so when the dr has to insert the spec to see my cervix, I’m so scared that there wil be extreme pain because how know insertion during sex feels.

I am about 7 days past ovulation and it hurt a bit while we were doing it and now it feels like my cervix burns…haven’t had this in years
we do it all the time never this

I read somewhere that if you retain your cervix and your ovaries, you could still have mini periods. Something to the effect that although the uterus is gone, the cervix can still build up a lining that will shed because the ovaries tell it to. I thought a hysterectomy would put an end to all bleeding. Anyone know about this?

Like, is it really comfortable using tampons?
And I hear that you are not supposed to feel the tampon once it’s inserted correctly, but do some women still feel it maybe because they have smaller cervix?

This probably seems like a stupid question but I truly need to have it answered. I had Chlamydia twice and worry all the time that it might have scarred my ovaries or something….I’ve had two pap smears since and my cervix seems to be fine but they never actually look internally to check and make sure the tubes and ovaries are fine…..Do I have to go to a fertility specialist to get checked internally or if I voice my concerns to my gynecologist will he check?

I had a Pap smear 3 days ago and have been bleeding since. It is not heavy bleeding – it is more like heavyish spotting with brown blood. I read it is normal to spot 1 day after a Pap smear, but is it OK if it lasts 3 days without getting weaker?

PS – on the day after the smear I had sex (the doctor did not mention that I shouldn’t do it). Could it have irritated the cervix and caused this prolonged spotting?

Gynecological exam hurt, is this normal?

I am a 25 year old virgin and visited the gynecologist for the first time. I told the doctor I had not had sex and was in for the routine check-up. She said she wouldn’t do a pap smear on me since I wasn’t sexually active but would do the rest of the exam. The moment the doctor inserted the speculum I was in such pain I was on the verge of tears. I told her it hurt and she said "OK, let’s just skip that part." Next, she inserted her fingers to check the uterus and ovaries and once again, this hurt SO bad that I was going to cry and as soon as I told her she just stopped what she was doing.

She didn’t give me an explanation as to why it hurt so bad and instead just stopped and when I asked if everything was ok she said my cervix looks fine "from what I could see, but I didn’t have a chance to see much.." I asked the nurse why it hurt and the nurse said since I was a virgin my hymen is intact.

Is it normal for this much pain? I literally was still feeling some soreness hours after the exam. Also, I don’t think the doctor really even examined me since she stopped everything she was doing when I said it hurt. I’ve talked to friends about this and they said it really depends on the doctor and that I should find a different one. I’m concerned maybe something is wrong with me because it hurt so bad?

I’m 9 wks preagnant and have had about 4 episodes of vaginal bleeding only lasting 1 dy.I’ve heard that after seeing a heart beat and cervix closed possibilities of misscarrying are lower how true is this. What could be causing the bleeding or how common is this problem.I’m on vaginal suppositories and they say this should help strenghten pregnancy is there any else I can do I’m also on bed rest per Dr’s orders. But I’m also scared eventhough I never have cramping or pain but at times I also pass alot of blood clots what could be the chances of this pregnancy of comming to full term. Please help me with some support at least.I’ve heard of women bleeding through there whole pregnancy and gooshing out blood I don’t bleed that bad not to where I have to change my pad it’s only when I urinate that alot of blood and clots come done at times.Help tx.

I had hysterectomy (partial) but they removed the uterus and cervix. Have been told via blood work that my ovaries are basically dying. I have a back injury and am scheduled for surgery this coming Friday – could this be something to worry about? THanks for taking the time to read my question and respond, P.S. Hysterectomy was like 15 years ago

I am scheduled for a myomectomy next week. I have a 9 cm fibroid tumor and my uterus is the size of a six month pregnancy. The doctor since it is so large part of it is embedded in my cervix. He said he will probably do a laproscopic myomectomy but he may have to do the abdominal depending on how bad it is. I am also anemic and I heard it there is a lot of blood loss the doctor will do a hysterectomy instead?

trying to have a baby for 7 months. whats wrong?

My fiance and I are trying to have a baby. We have used ovulation tests, he has gotten his little swimmers checked to see if they are ok (his count is a little low, and they are also a little lazy, meaning slow swimmers). I am prenatal vitamins as well to help. We have been trying to have a baby for 7-8 months and every month, I get my period. I am ovulating, but the last 2 months my period has been between 3-7 days late. I took pregnancy tests both times I was late, expecting them to be positive, but they are not. Also, the last 2 months my period has been very light in flow and color.

Nobody in either of our families has ever had fertility problems, or problems conceiving. Actually, it’s the other way around. My cousin, as well as my brother, had children without even trying or being married. My cousin has 2 and my brother has 3. My parents got pregnant the first time they tried. So did everyone else in my family and my fiance’s family.

Before I met my fiance, I was engaged to 2 other men. Both times, we tried to have children. So my fiance would be the 3rd man I have tried to have a baby with. My doctor said that I am normal, my cervix looks great for baby making, my ovaries and fallopian tubes look wonderful, so does my uterus. I do get abnormally sized cysts in my right ovary during my period, but I was told that it will not affect me from becoming pregnant because it is only there during my period. My fiance and I are both NEGATIVE for all STD’s that the doctor had tests for.

I have changed my diet to be more baby-making friendly. I quit smoking 8 months ago, and neither of us drink or do drugs of any kind, other than occasionally taking pain medications. We cut down on soda. I have 2 cats, one of which died recently, so we got a kitten to replace her. Before we started trying to get pregnant, I always cleaned the litter boxes. Now that we are trying, my fiance cleans the boxes so I’m not at risk for toxoplasmosis. If he is not home, and the litter boxes need cleaning, I put on surgical gloves and a bandana around my nose and mouth or a surgical mask and immediately take a shower afterwards.

I was hospitalized 1 year ago for a week because I have kidney problems. I get kidney stones (apparently every male on my fathers side has them, but instead of my brother getting them, I got them). Sometimes, my kidneys act up. I get a little sick, but its nothing that bed rest for a day, cranberry juice, and a lot of water wont fix. My urologist and OB-GYN agreed that my kidney issue shouldn’t affect me from getting pregnant, but I have to be very careful while I am pregnant.

Does anyone know what I can do to help me get pregnant, without doing any hormone therapy or in-vitro. I want to conceive naturally. Thank you!
i did use a fertility calender online, and i also used the Answer Ovulation test 20 strip every month. It says I ovulate around the same time every month. I should ovulate this weekend.

toxoplasmosis.. i have only had cats for 3 years, so i dont think thats enough time for me to build up an immunity. my parents HATE cats. i had one for about a year growing up and it attacked my grandma so they gave him away. i was 7 so i never went near the litter box. i didnt even know where my mom kept it. im OCD, so everything is always clean (cooking surfaces) and i always cook everything thoroughly.

i do however suffer from depression. i’ve had it since about 2004 when a loss in my family occured. the medications for it effect me in an undesirable way, so my doctor told me not to take it, and since im trying to have a baby i dont take it anyway. would depression cause me to not get pregnant? i forgot to ad that in.
also, i want to CONCEIVE NATURALLY. meaning, i want my fiance and i to have sex to make a baby. i dont want some doctor putting his sperm in me, or taking my egg and his sperm and mixing them in a dish. i want this to be natural, personal.

having a doctor help, to me at least, isnt the same as my fiance getting me pregnant. its still going to be his baby, but i dont feel that its the same.

so no, im not going to consider in-vitro, or the procedure where the doctor puts the sperm into me. if it wont happen naturally, it wont happen at all. we have however considered adoption. we want a baby, but we dont want a doctor to get me pregnant.

Menstrual Cramps?

I think I read somewhere on here that in late pregnancy if you have menstrual like cramps it means your cervix is thinning or dialating. Is this true? I’m 34 weeks along and have been experiencing this all day. Thanks for your responses.

which is the most common cause of postmenopausal bleed in india amoung these options
