They inhibit the pituitary from secreting FSH and LH, preventing ovulation.
They cause the lining of the uterus to be sloughed off.
They prevent the monthly development of the uterine lining.
They trigger premature ovulation, before an egg is mature.
They cause the corpus luteum to degenerate.

I used to never get my period. If I did, it was like one here and there with anywhere from 4 to 9 months in between. I tried natural progesterone cream and I get it now, but its too often! It feels like I get it every other week! Any ideas? Also I want to get pregnant, but I dont even know if I ovulate.
I am using the Aim Renewed balance cream 1/4th teaspoon twice a day. When I started it I didnt know what day I was on, so I used it until I got my period. Counted to day 12 from the first day and started it again. Used it until my period started again, which was only 11 days, the next time it was only 9 days. It seems like I would only need to use it once a month, but its more like twice a month. I just cant seem to get the pattern down. So I read that using it from day 5-26 for a couple months and then stopping can trigger ovulation, so I am trying that. We haven’t been really TRYING to conceive right now, but we also havent been preventing, and it just hasn’t happened.
Also, I was 16 when I got my first period. I am not taking any medications, and my doctors can not confirm if I have PCOS or not. Some say yes, some say no. I do have cysts on my ovaries, but not any large ones. Just small ones on both. I have been on Birth control pills on and off since I was 17 to try to regulate things. I got off of them about 2 years ago. I went 9 months with out a period and started using the cream. It gave me my period but my doctor still thinks that I do not ovulate. Everytime I have my blood work done, my LH is skyrocketing and my FSH is low. I also think I have low progesterone. It was at a 1.06. But again, I dont know what stage I was in, since at that time I did not get a period at all. So I guess I just need to know what to do to get a period at the right time every month using the cream. I have read a lot of things about it and I dont know what to believe.
If I didnt explain that right, I would use the cream until I get my period, and not use it while I am bleeding. I was counting day one as the first day I bleed and starting the cream again on day 12. But since I was getting 2 periods I didnt know if this was correct. But now that I read that I should try to shut my ovaries off, this month I started the cream on day 5, I am on day 17 right now, so if i follow the same pattern, I am expecting to bleed again today or tomorrow.

I’m 26 years old and I’ve been experiencing symptoms of postmenopause, it turns out, because my estradiol is 11. I’ve been on Ortho-Cyclen for eight years but my doctor thinks I need to switch to Yaz to balance my hormones. The estradiol was the only thing to come out abnormal; testosterone, FSH, and LH were all in the normal range. I’m concerned I might have something more seriously wrong…PCOS seems unlikely since my FSH is ok and in 3 months I’ve gone from 146 lbs. to 127 lbs (height is 5’5"). I can’t wrap my head around what could possibly be wrong. Please give me your suggestions.

why is the FSH SO low? I’m confused

I believe that it is related, but not sure why? BTW — I am not goign through early menopause. I have had my FSH and estradiol checked. The night sweats have happened on and off for over eight years. I have slight hypothyroidism but it doesn’t seem that night sweats are a symptom. I don’t have any of the other commonly known causes for night sweats either like infections, cancer of diabetes.
