Premenopause…………?

My grandmother went through "the change" at 36 years old, my mother went through it at 32 years old….. I am almost 28. I have two children but do want another, should I take this into consideration? I have had one doctor tell me my biological clock is ticking and have to go for a thyroid ultrasound this month. Could the problems I am having be because of this (thyroid looks "full", body aches & pains, and hot flashes)? I have arthritis so the pains could be from that and I have epilepsy which cause some hot flashes during & after. Sorry this is long but once the change happens there is no going back and saying "ya I think im ready for another child now."

My grandmother and a cousin both developed severe rheumatic autoimmune diseases after pregnancy, when being previously fine before pregnancy. I have not been able to find any additional evidence of pregnancy causing an autoimmune disease to develop, but am wondering if anyone knows of a link between the two, either clinical or anecdotal.

I realize that pregnancy has effects on women who already have autoimmune diseases, but am trying to weigh the risks of developing an illness from being pregnant. Any additional information would be very helpful. Thank you!

Fibroid tumors run in my family. My mother had grandmother had them and my mother had them and now I know I have them. Will they have any conflict with me getting pregnant?

I recently went to the doctors and was told I have an extremely large cyst on my left ovary. My mom told me she has a history of ovarian cysts too. I know that they can be better maintained by birth control. My family also has a long history of uteral cancer. This includes my mom, grandmother, cousins, and my aunt all of which are on my mothers side. Is there a link between ovarian cysts and cancers of the uterus, ovaries, or cervix? Thanks.

My grandmother passed away from Ovarian Cancer in 2002. I have already had one pap smear that was negative, & had ovarian cysts every month for the past 1 1/2 years.

Can you get ovarian cysts at 16 years old?

For the past 6 months or so I have been having really sudden, sharp pains in my ovary region. They aren’t period cramps, I am 100 percent positve. It really hurts when I like bend over or lean over a sink to brush my teeth or sit up and down. I’m really scared because my grandmother had ovarian cancer and they said it was hereditary which means I’m at a higher risk of getting it. I’ve never had these kinds of pains before and its scaring me, what can a doctor do to check if I have cysts?

Worried about hormones and female problems?

I get PMS, occasional migraines, started my period early, large breasted. Women in my family tend to get fibroids, and my grandmother had breast cancer. I think I am genetically predisposed to produce hormonal imbalances. How do I address this while I am still young? I worry my body produces too much estrogen. That can cause lots of health problems later on.
I am actually already changing my diet and drinking less caffeine in an attempt to address this

Why would a doctor ask you if you had had a hysterectomy or had your ovaries removed after he had performed an ultrasound? Wouldn’t he have seen these things, or lack there-of when he did the scan? I’m asking because we took my Grandmother to get an ultrasound scan today, and the doctor asked me and my mother that afterwards. I’m very curious to know why he would ask that. Any help please?

The Doctors can’t figure it out. It happened to my Grandmother as well (at 70). I wondered if the return of my period had anything to do (strange as it sounds) with my mini Italian Greyhound being in heat and sleeping in my bed. Her mensus blood got on the sheets for a few nights and it was quite messy. It got on me too. I washed everything, but still her hormones touched my skin for several days. So I might have had a dermal hormonal infusion from the dog. Does that sound plausible?
You do hear of women living under one roof getting their periods all at the same time. But does this apply to dogs as well?

My grandmother, who is 83 years old, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer over two years ago. She has been stage 4 once, back to stage 2, and now back to stage 4. She has extreme abdominal swelling and pain (ascites). She had 6 quarts of fluid taken off her stomach 3 weeks ago, and 8 more quarts taken off two days ago. Her stomach has already begun swelling again. She can not take certain types of chemo because her esosphagus has been damaged. She was supposed to get chemo intraveneously yesterday, but the doctor would not allow it because she did not look well enough. My grandparents are old school and do not question the doctor on anything, so we have no idea how long she may have to live. Does anybody have any experience with a prognosis, life expectancy, quality of life? She is a Christian, she is ready to go to the Lord, but she continues to have procedures (parencentesis) done because her husband is not ready to let her go.

My hair has been thinning for the last 5 years. At the time the cause was atrributed to stress. Stress reduction had little effect. Thyroid was tested with normal results. Cycles are now becoming more rapid (22 days) and scantier. I do not know age of menopause in my mother or grandmother due to hysterectomy. I will be 40 soon.

However, my hair loss has become noticeable to others. Hairs break or shed and seems not to grow back very quickly.

Please suggest what I should investigate further.
