On September 1 of ’08 (yes, labor day) I had two ovarian cysts removed. Now I have more, and I am being put on meds to control them. Could the surgery I had before effect my chances of having children later?

I had my yearly appointment with my obgyn in October to discuss family planning. I wanted to make sure I was okay and nothing was blocking me from having children. She said everything was okay but should I seek a fertility specialist? I mean can a fertility specialist see things that an obgyn doctor can’t?

thank you!

I have an almost 3 year old and almost 1 year old. It seems like since the youngest was born i have very low or no sex drive. My husband and i are still very much in love, but it just seems like we are not spending enough time on "us" as we are the kids. Just wondering how you got the spark back after having children? Is this a doctor issue, or can i overcome this in time? Thanks, very frustrated and any suggestions are very much appreciated.

I am curious to know how an abortion procedure would commence before 15 weeks of pregnancy. What are the risks and side effects of having an abortion? What are the possible risks of having children in the future?

What if the governments that paid economically disadvantaged citizens a certain amount of money per child decided to require women to have a hysterectomy if they kept having children when they knew they could not afford for those children. They would be doing it because the women keep having children just so they can get the money from the government. So… if they are required to get the operation they cannot have more children. Easy fix to a problem?

Im 16 and i have had 3 or 4 ruptured ovarian cysts. I don’t want to go on the pill but if it i continue to have them rupture can it prevent me from having children in the future?

I do not want children. I have always hated them and I do not want any at all. I want to have my ovaries taken out to prevent the possibility of having children. How old do you have to be before you can?
Okay. i am on birth control pills already. i don’t understand why it is not a choice thing to have your tubes tied. I also hear that it is not a grantee fix. I understand why it would be bad to get my Ovaries taken out, but I am 21, if i want to have my tubes tied…shouldn’t i have the choice?

I am convinced that my "mental health issues" are directly related to my hormones. I am 40 and done having children. Anyone heard of such a thing?

I have endometriosis that is getting consistently worse and am considering a hysterectomy. (We are finished having children-)
I am wondering if anyone has experienced a worsening of their bipolar disorder from a hysterectomy?
I would appreciate only getting answers from those with experience.
Thank you!

I had one of my ovaries removed several years ago due to a cyst inside it. I was assured by my Doctor that this wouldn’t affect my fertility as the remaining ovary compensates (and certainly my menstural cycle wasn’t even disrupted) but as I have no intention of having children I wasn’t overly concerned.

I have been wondering if it will mean I will go through menopause a bit early?

I’m getting hot flashes, which I’ve never gotten before. I’ve read about the symptoms for school papers and they seem to fit. Is there anyway to know if you’re getting premenopause without just waiting it out or going through a blood test? (I have a horrible fear of needles, so I’d like to avoid a blood test if possible). and is this something I should get checked? I don’t care about having children. I’m a virgin and I really don’t want to give birth at any point. Ever. So I’m okay with that aspect. I just want to know if it’s dangerous at this point in my life and what I should do. (like if it’s an actual emergency to get this checked out)
Well, when I was younger, I’d had my period for a few months before it just never stopped. I had it for a year and a half to two years without it once stopping. Eventually it straightened out but left me a little anemic. Now I’m much better.

I’m not on any birth control pills. I don’t have sex and, as far as I know, I don’t have any problems that would be righted by those pills. Never been checked for anything that needed them though.

I’ve never been to a gynecologist. I’ve never really had to. I don’t have any problems in that region (other than this thing right now) and I don’t take birth control. I figure I won’t have to go until I start having sex, which isn’t happening nay time soon, so I don’t even know where to go.

I didn’t check my temperature, but I was was freezing (because my house is freezing) and then, all of a sudden, I was sweating and I couldn’t cool down. Then not too long after I was cold again. As far as I know, that’s a hot flash. (my mom gets them. She agrees
