Last night I was reading an article that said the reason men cheat so often is because, once a guy’s wife go through menopause, her reproductive career is over, and he feels the need to go seek out younger, fertile females. It also said that this is the reason men go through a mid-life crisis; they realize their wives can no longer make children and go out and buy things like a shiny new red convertable to attract young females. Is this supposed to be proof that it is male nature to toss post menopausal women aside and there is no hope is stopping men from cheating on their wives?
It wasn’t in a magazine. It was on Psychology Today’s website. And how on earth is that what women want to hear?

Relieve Hormonal Symptoms of Menopause with a natural food diet. Looking for more natural ways to help with the symptoms of menopause? Many herbal remedies can relieve and even eliminate the common symptoms of these conditions.

During menopause, women often experience uncomfortable symptoms. Hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, irregular, changes in bleeding and loss of sexual desire are some of the most common. Recently, studies have shown that hormone replacement therapy is not as safe as originally believed, so many women are looking to natural remedies with a great deal of success.

Black coho sh has been used for centuries to help women with menopausal symptoms, and is most effective in treating hot flashes. It seems to have some ability to mimic estrogen in the body, relieving the hot flashes and mood swings that plague so many women.

Limiting caffeine will help with your symptoms as well. Herbal teas, and using onion, garlic and lemon instead of salt should help as well. One study at UCLA noted that garlic halted the advance of heart disease in post-menopausal women.

Soy, shown to be beneficial in so many areas, helps with menopausal symptoms as well. Soy has a natural estrogen-like compound that helps balance hormones. Chickpeas, lentils and tofu will provide the same benefits. Complex carbohydrates like brown rice will also help regulate the amount of estrogen in your system.

Ensuring that you are receiving a sufficient amount of essential fatty acids by eating oils, nuts, seeds and oily fish will help relieve vaginal dryness and keep the skin supple.

More and more women are seeking alternative therapies for symptoms of menopause. Try these simple and natural food remedies today.

I know every woman’s pretty much different in their needs but I’m looking for suggestions/recommendations to try. I’m also on a tight budget so I can’t try too many at one time.

I’m particularly looking for supplements for post menopausal women.

HRT debate. discuss and express your opinions?

Hormone replacement therapy can be used to allow post menopausal women to become pregnant. Eg. a donated egg can be fertilized by sperm from the woman’s partner and can lead to 60 year old women having a baby…

what is your opinions of this? right or wrong?
What are the advantages and disadvantages?

8)Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) has been shown to be one way to reduce the incidence of osteoporosis in post-menopausal women, however recent clinical trials have indicated there are dangerous increased risks of heart disease, stroke and various cancers associated with HRT. What is the single most important factor in reducing the incidence of osteoporosis in older women and when do women need to start being concerned about this?

I had 2 heavy periods and suddenly a month goes by! My gyno wont put me on hormones unless I have a biopsy. I feel healthy, I just never know month to month what is going to happen. I am 45 and appreciate answers from peri-menopausal women. I once went almost a year and suddenly it comes back and now no period!

vaginal dryness?

I am 34 years old and had to have a hysterectomy. I am not taking hrt’s, (we have a high rate of breast cancer in our family and I didn’t want to add to my high rate). I take a natural herb for the hot flashes (black kosh), and a natural herb for the mood swings. Some days are good some not so good. One of my questions is what do I do about vaginal dryness durning sex. Every since I have had surgery I am extremely dry. I use ky but I don’t like the stuff. Any suggestions? Also any suggestions on a good diet for menopausal women? Thanks in advance.

The only real symptom I have is a screwed up menstrual cycle. I work with menopausal women that say I am about to go through the change. I am only 42. No night sweats, in fact I am always cold.

I see many posts ridiculing mature women on this forum. Some of these middle-aged women are going through or have gone through menopause. However, men go through a similar transition:

"There is a basic set of identifiable symptoms which signal changes in hormones. These symptoms include some of the same symptoms women experience:

Diminished sexual drive
Urinary changes
Lack of energy
Decrease in strength and/or endurance
Lost height, back pain
Decreased “enjoyment of life”
Irritability, anger, and grumpiness
Depression or withdrawn
Erections less strong
Deterioration in sports ability
Falling asleep after dinner
Decreased work performance
Joint aches and stiffness of the hands
Premature aging
Changes in hair growth and skin quality
Loss of physical fitness, weight gain, and “beer” bellies
Hot flashes
Increased anxiety
Loss of self esteem
Decreased memory and/or concentration"

Why are only menopausal women ridiculed? Why not menopausal men too?
Here is tons more info:

http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Men’s_Health/Andropause/

According to one poster – who has "been there" himself, andropause IS of concern. If it weren’t of concern to men then why would men seek to treat the symptoms? Verstehen?

Or is it man-made estrogens that cause the increased risk of cancer in pre-menopausal women? Thanks for any information……

Why does menopause cause meanness?
I notice that women tend to be a little mean when going through "the change"
Why?
How long does menopause last?
Women are kind of crazy during menopause.
My mom sure is moody lately.I can’t wait for her to be done.I don’t live with my parents but when I visit she can be a little mean sometimes lately.
