I have horrible dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps) caused by a condition that I have called a retroverted uterus. This causes periods to be extra painful, and often on the first day I get really sweaty and faint and I cannot concentrate, and usually medicine does not help. I have heard that giving birth feels like period cramps times 100, so maybe what I experience is somewhat like birth (but a little less painful). Is this true?

I am experiencing horrible throbbing menstrual cramps and pamprin isn’t working anymore at all. I’ve tried ibuprofen, midol, extra strength and 12 hour formulas – but nothing helps anymore. Weird thing is, any other time of the month I never take these pain relievers, but its like my body has built up a tolerance to them. What else can I do to relieve the pain?

I have really bad ovulation pain every month. It’s good in a way because it helps me to confirm ovulation, but is this normal? I hardly have menstrual cramps at all but mid month when ovulation comes it’s awful. I am almost 100% certain it is ovulation pain because as soon as I start to feel the bad cramping I take an OPK and it is always positive. But is it normal to have bad ovulation pains? Could something be wrong?

What are some natural ways to stop or lessen menstrual cramps? As well as lessen bleeding?
I thought of birth control but can’t afford it right now and Midol and all those other pills don’t work for me.
Advice, experience and help would be great!
Unfortunately I am 18 and don’t have a great source of income so I can’t afford much. I’ll try the Banana and hard work. Since it is fathers day I have to go out so maybe that will help. Thanks for the advice!

I’m having really bad menstrual cramps, but I have a basketball game in about 3 hours. What should I do to stop or reduce this pain? I need to play really well because this is a huge rival team of ours. Any tips?

I have very tough menstrual cramps. I need something that doesn’t take a long time to work and something that fights the worst cramps.
Thanks!

A friend told me that she drinks beer or anything carbonated to relieve her menstrual cramps or dysmenorrhea. Can anyone shed some light on this? I get cramps every month & I’ve tried midol and motrin but to no avail.

I want to know if for some women, their menstrual cramps can be so strong and so severe it feels like a pregnancy contraction?
Yes my cramps were from my stomach thru to my back, down my thighs and I could feel it in every muscle in between even my butt. I got up to walk and was dizzy lightheaded and threw up two times.

She asked me to ask this question here on YA because she doesn’t have an account. But isn’t Krill oil supposed to offer relief for menstrual cramps?

Every month I always deal with painful menstrual periods. Mostly irritability, really painful stomach cramps, and lower back pain. I’m starting to get a little tired of having to deal with painful menstrual periods so I’m looking for ways to alleviate or stop the pain. I read somewhere that calcium (1,000 mg) and magnesium (500 mg) relaxes the uterine muscle, prevents menstrual cramps, and alleviates PMS tension. I’m considering taking a calcium and magnesium supplement but do I need to take this before my period starts, during my period, or after my period or should I be taking it all the time? Also I read that Evening Primrose oil helps regulate Prostaglandins so should I be taking this before my period starts, during my period, or after my period or full time? I heard somewhere that Red Raspberry Leaves is good for toning the uterus and also helps prevent menstrual cramps so should I be taking this before my period, during my period or after my period or full time?
Someone also told me that I should take an iron supplement cause that may help my heavy periods so should I take this before my period, during my period or after my period or full time. If you have any other thoughts or suggestions please post them cause at this point I’m willing to try.
