Need some advice About pari-menopause please?

I’m 39 and have been suffering with this for about 6 months now. I can’t take any kind of hormones, so I’d like to know if there is anything else that can help relieve symptoms. Hot flashes, weight gain, insane mood swings, fatigue. Any suggestions please? I feel like I’m losing my mind and I think my kids and husband have had just about all they can handle from me! Oh, and frequent migraines also. Thanks!

Worried about hormones and female problems?

I get PMS, occasional migraines, started my period early, large breasted. Women in my family tend to get fibroids, and my grandmother had breast cancer. I think I am genetically predisposed to produce hormonal imbalances. How do I address this while I am still young? I worry my body produces too much estrogen. That can cause lots of health problems later on.
I am actually already changing my diet and drinking less caffeine in an attempt to address this

Biomedical Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Does anyone on here around my age (I am 19 years old) use this form of therapy to treat PMS symptoms?

I don’t believe in birth control, biomedical hormone replacement is said to be entirely different as there is a significant difference in the way the hormones are metabolized. I have done some research on it and it is mostly targeted toward women going through menopause.

A question to doctors: Is it possible that biomedical hormone replacement therapy could affect fertility levels in my future years? I do not want to engage in any form of therapy that is not healthy for my body. I am considering the biomedical HRT because I have been having fainting spells and severe migraines when I PMS.

Thank you–
Poor wording–not fertility "levels" per say, but rather could the therapy affect my ability to become pregnant in the future?

Im a 26 yr old female, i had a baby girl almost a year ago and i didn’t suffer from PND. Over the last 6 months i have been losing an excessive amount of weight (30 kg’s since having my daughter) and am now dangerously thin. I have been suffering from terrible migraines which i have a history of so it didn’t concern me much. But lately im constantly exhausted despite having got a good nights rest. I get the chills and then all of a sudden im sweating im so hot. My neck is stiff and it feels almost like i have whiplash all the time. I have no motivation to do anything and have been feeling a strange lump on my head for the last few days that is really painful when i touch it. I don’t remember bumping my head anywhere. I am having outrageous mood swings, i go from being irrationally happy to depressed in the blink of an eye. I do eat all the time and i have no history of depression. I also go through these stages where i feel stupid, and im not a stupid person,. Last week, my boss described me as acting like the dumbest smart person he knows. I have an extensive vocabulary but cant seem to remember anything…. I feel like im going crazy and i know i should go to the doctor but alot of this makes me sound insane and like a hypochondriac…. Does anyone have any idea whats going on with me?

Since about 33 and 1/2 I started having slight hot flashes. But my periods changed for me around 29. They became shorter and lighter sometimes and then heavier but still didn’t last more then 2 or 3 days. For about 10 years now the first day starts out as spotting and then the 3rd or 4th day is when it becomes heavier but doesn’t last more then two days. A lot of the blood seems to be in the toilet when I go to the bathroom. The hot flashes at 33 didn’t last more then 6 months and weren’t very frequent. But I just turned 39 and now have noticed hot flashes at least once a day especially at night. They used to be in my chest a hot feeling now it begins in my chest and ends up in my head. Sometimes I wake up with semi migraines and feel really tired and sluggish all day at work. My mom stopped getting periods at 41 or 42. She’s now 70 and whenever I ask her about it she tells me to ask the dr or others because she doesn’t remember it. It’s like she’s ashamed of it.
Before the age of 29 my periods were 5 to 7 days. Would start out heavy for about 3 days and then get lighter for the rest of the time. I’ve heard you can go through perimenopause for 5-10 years before your period actually ends. Sometimes my periods now have even been every 26 days or 28 days where as before were always every 28 to 30. Does this mean I’m really getting close to the end? Also what do I do now, with not feeling well. Since I technically still get my periods what can the dr give me to help me with these awful symptoms? Another thing I’m so worried about is I’ve read when you go through it young it can age your skin and cause your hair to thin because the collagen isn’t being produced because of loss of estrogen. My mom still looks extremly good for her age but every individual is different is this just an old wifes tale or does it age you when you go through it young?

facial numbness with migraines?

I have migraines on occasion due to a hormone problem, early perimenopause. My question is has anyone here had facial numbness with migraines?I read on the internet that it can happen, but it is scary. It usually is the left side along my cheekbone and around my left eye-kind of a novacaine like feeling that goes away after the headache stops.Any one else ever have this, serious replies only. Thanks
Febuary song-Thank you so much,I feel better hearing from another migraine sufferer that they have had this.GOD-bless!!!!

What were your symptoms? Did you choose HRT or herbals or do nothing and why? Also did you experience menopause migraines and how did you treat them? Did you have migraines prior to menopause? How long does this last?
Deep….thanks for the correction and yes you are right about the perimenopause….and the night sweats!

Over the last few years my PMS symptoms have been getting worse and worse and going on for longer each month – I also get a lot of headaches and migraines and am depressed. Could all this be the start of menopause (at age 39)?

What is causing my night sweats?

I am 10 years menopausal. In the past 6 months I have woken up each morning sweating. Could this be a symptom of something I’m not aware of? I have diabetes Type 2, hypothyriodism, hyperlipidism, high blood pressure, and a history of migraines. I monitor myself at home and everything is alright except for blood sugar readings steadily climbing up to 200 with oral meds, diet, and exercise. Any suggestions?

After my second uneventful pregnancy, I was almost 30 years old and felt I was done with having babies. I went on two different birth control pills in an eight month timeframe. One was ortho-trycyclen, one was a progestin one. One caused my migraines to worsen, the other I wouldn’t stop bleeding. So, off I went and got pregnant within two months. I m/c at 16 weeks. The heart had stopped. My hormones were out of whack all through it. Nightsweats, hot chills, weird stuff. My dr. said probably chromosome problem. Seven months later I was pregnant again. M/C at eight weeks. Bleeding started after intercourse. That was two years ago. Two months ago I finally got pregnant again, but spotted, and then stopped and then m/c at 61/2 weeks, bleeding started the day after intercourse. My period seems to always follow sex, too. When I am late I joke with dh that we need to get busy to get rid of my pms. Now I am in my late 30′s and am trying again. Anyone else had m/c after birth control pills?

Neorologist cannot help me. All test show my brain and nervous systems are normal. I was told the migraines are triggered by my menopause. The GYN doctor tried hormonal treatment. But I got sick from the pills. I am at a loss. Each month I get such severe headaches, light sensitivity, I hear echoes(when people talk to me) then I peak (as I call it) I vomitted continuesly then I feel better. I wonder if there is anyone out there that has anything similar to what I am going through. If so how can I stop it.

I have been having severe headaches every day. I have been diagnosed in the past with migraines, but I can tell the difference between migraines and just a regular headache and what I’m experiencing is not migraines. I have tried sleeping this off and everything you normally do with a migraine and nothing works. I’ve also taken tylenol, aleve, exedrin migraine, advil, exedrin tension headache and asprin and also have put a cool cloth over my eyes. I have had a lot of stress, which has been reduced so I’m not sure that’s what it is. In addition, I have been having some dizziness mostly when I move my eyes around, nausea (which I bought medicine for) and hot flashes a lot. I sleep with a fan on to help with this. I’ve had 2 CT scans done in the past year, so it’s not anything serious like that. I’m only 24. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what I could do or what this is?
