Pelvic Exam for 8 Year Old?!?

Would there be any possible reason to perform a gynecological exam on a healthy 8 year old girl? Although I’m an adult now, I had an awful flashback to checkup when I was 8 years old. My pediatrician yanked down my panties and roughly performed a long, very painful pelvic exam. I was pretty shocked ( he never spoke to me at all). It hurt a lot. I was crying and begged him to stop but he ignored me. I was not sick, this was just a checkup & I was an extremely healthy kid. Can that exam have been necessary?

so I am a 16 year old girl been on levoxyl for about 6 months for hypothyroidism due to radioactive iodine previously hyperthyroid. Anyways, every since I started taking the medicine I have a terrible time falling asleep due to racing thoughts and terrible anxiety. I had my levels checked a few weeks ago that indicated that I was slightly hypo TSH 5.7. I know its not due to hyperthyroidism, so is it better if you take it in the morning?

I have a Question about Fibroid Tumors?

When is it most Likely for a girl to get Fibroid Tumors? Is it Likely for a 19 year old girl to get them? Does it cause you to not be able to have kids? What causes this and is it Likely for a 19 year old? That’s all im wondering.

Thanks!

Would a B-Vitamin deficiency lead to night sweats?

I’m a 22 year old male and I’ve been having recurring night sweats. I have no sources of B-vitamins in my vitamins, nor do I supplement with them (which is going to change). I have an obsessively controlled and limited diet that excludes whole-grain cereals, bread, egg yolks, yeast, cheese, milk, potatoes, etc.
Thanks for the moronic response, Doctor Retard.
Oh, and why in the hell is a 13 year old girl answering questions in the Men’s Health section. What the fuck….?

Hormonal imbalance problems?

So I suffer from hormonal imbalance and I’ve found out that I have a lot of symptoms that are happening because of it. One of which is vaginal dryness, which I have very badly. I’ve had sex before with one of my ex’s and that relationship ended when I started to dread sex because I would hurt and bleed every time. I thought that he was just bad at it and that it was all because I was just new to sex but looking at some of the symptoms of Progesterone imbalance I found out it was actually all my fault. I was also looking at things to solve it but none of them were things for a 19 year old girl. All this problems usually only happen to premenstrual women which I am not. I’m already on pregnancy pills that have zero progesterone in them but that’s not doing anything but allowing me a few periods a year. I don’t want a baby but I do want to enjoy having sexual experiences with the ones I love. I don’t want to lose another boyfriend because I dread sex and start hating them for it. I’ve tried normal KY lube before but it didn’t work at all, if fact it just numbed the general area a bit and cause the painful sex to last longer for my ex, which in turn made me more sore. I’ve also never had an orgasm and can’t even give myself one. I really don’t know what to do and I’ve found out most OB-Gens don’t know anything about any of this just what type of pregnancy pill to get on and I’m already on it. If anyone has any solutions or have gone through this I’d really appreciate some kind of advice, and any "No sex until marriage" BS will simply be ignored. I have a career I’m aiming for and children ARE NOT a part of it so whether I have sex now or late doesn’t matter.
Thank you.

Do I have menopause at sixteen?

I’m a sixteen year old girl, and I’m getting symptoms of menopause.

For eight months now, I haven’t had a period or even spotting, and for no apparent cause.
I’m also getting several other symptoms of menopause, such as several random dark hairs on my cheeks/chin, hot flashes and even clamminess on occasion.

I’m suspecting it might be a cyst, as my aunt had once had an ovarian cyst that had turned cancerous and eventually caused sterility at the age of 19. Still, I’m unsure if a cyst would be the problem. Before this year, I rarely had any problems with my cycle other than occasional pain AFTER a period, not before or during. Could this have anything to do with it?

I am going to see a OBGYN for the first time in September, so that will probably give me a definite answer.

Still, do you think menopause at 16 is possible?
If so, why, and is there a name for what I’m going through?
@redtiger: No, I’m not generally stressed, and I very rarely exercise, to be truthful. I don’t diet, and I am barely overweight though definitely not obese or even unhealthy. I doubt any of those factors are causing it, so I’m pretty clueless. :[

I’m a 17 year old girl and lately I’ve been feeling very horny or aroused. My period passed two weeks ago and here I am, feeling so desperate every minute today. I’ve masturbated twice but I still feel so hornyy!!!! I’ve also never had a boyfriend if this matters. Is this normal since I’m still a teenager or I need to get my hormone levels checked?

Thanks- Anonymous

Female hormones?

What is the typical range of estrogen and testerone levels for a normal 14 year old girl?

a 16-year-old girl suffered an eating disorder. then her menstruation was unstable. later, she’s always depressed, sad, headache, fatigue, easily hurt(feelings) etc. her social life became worse when she gradually had facial hair especially above her lips (kind of a mustache) . her hair became thick (all over her body-well,mostly)she became more depressed and cried nearly everyday, she ate little but still gain weight. somehow, she found out that she might suffer a hormonal imbalance. because she got most of the symptoms.
she want to have a wonderful teenage-life. but the facial hair is the worst things ever happen to her. can she do something bout it? how to reverse her hormonal imbalance? she’s still young.
yea,,everyone got hair all over the face, the problem is when it gets thicker and more obvious, hey a GIRL with mustache is so not normal. imagine how disturbing/annoying n humiliating it can be when every time we talk to someone, his/her eyes kept looking at the ‘mustache’. this kind of situation really worsen the verbal skills.and it’s really bad.

I am a 14 year old girl. Got my period Jan. 2007, got it irregularly and the last time I got it was Sept.2007. I am set to get tests done this summer to see why I don’t have it, and I think I may have a hormonal imbalance. I have also recently found a few painful lumps in my breast. Is it possible that these lumps are cysts caused by a hormonal imbalance?
