The Mirena IUD seems to have lowered my sex drive and I’ve researched some about how the DHEA supplement can help with that, but, would taking it interfere with how the IUD works since it sends the ovaries signals to stop making progesterone or at least lower it?.. and taking DHEA would actually help put hormone levels in balance. So is it a good idea taking DHEA on IUD or not? Would the DHEA cancel what the IUD is doing to protect against pregnancy?

My doctor started me on HRT, estrogen and progesterone last week. I have been on for about 7 days now, and the last 4 days, my arms having been aching with no relief with OTC pain medicaitons. Could this be related to the hormones? Should I be concerned about it or wait to see if it goes away?

Found out from a saliva test that my progesterone levels are low. Wondering about a natural supplement but have no clue where to start. Are creams best or oral supplements? Any recommendations as far as brands/types?
Thanks!

Hi, im getting married in May. Unfortunately i will get my period about 1-2 days before. i have done alot of reading about using progesterone cream to delay your period. I have read to start using it on day 10 or 14. has anyone ever done this before? Does it work? Any side effects?
Also in an unrelated note. For the past 3 months, right in the middle of the time between my periods i have started bleeding. For 2-4 days. Not as heavy, but enough to inconvenience me. Any ideas why. Cant get to the doctor till mid April.

My Progesterone came back at a 5.3 which shows that I did ovulate. I know they would like for it to be higher. So I know we timed it right with the baby dancing, but bc it is a little low could I still get pregnant?

I’m currently on Necon 1/35 (high estrogen, low progesterone) but have been experiences really heavy periods that last at least a week. I’ve read good reviews about Loestrin 24 Fe. Has anyone tried it? Are they any potential side effects from such a drastic switch? I don’t really know much about hormones so whats the difference between estrogen and progesterone?
Thanks for your help!

I have 30-33 day cycles and I am trying to get pregnant. I was told two years ago that I have low progesterone levels. there has also been times when I had a 10 day late period and the only thing that I can assume is that my body is trying to get pregnant but due to low progesterone (estrogen dominance) the baby was unable to "stick"
Well, I got a positive Ovulation Predictor Test on Cycle day 14. I have been having unprotected sex with my partner the day before, the day on, and the day after the positive opk test. In addition, I have also been having slight cramping on both sides where my ovaries would be located, and the day that we had unprotected sex the same day I got the positive result, I had very very very light spotting after sex (ovulation spotting possibly). Well, My question is, should I begin using the progesterone cream now that I am almost certain that I have already ovulated? or should I wait a few days to ensure that Ive Ovulated before I begin using it? progesterone cream that I am using is 100% natural. and it is contained in a pump so the measurements are accurate when being used (one squirt or pump per application)//// and i also wanted to know how long do I use this progesterone cream? I am now at cycle day 18. the positive OPK happened at cycle day 14 (four days ago) any advice and advice from ladies who have had success doing this will be absolutely helpful

I have endometriosis, and am thinking of using progesterone cream to help with it..I am wondering if I were to check my levels, when would be the time to do it? I want to have a comparative, so I would want more than one a month or two apart…

I just had my second month using progesterone cream. I am using it for long periods, 5-6 days of spotting then 5-6 days of actual period. This month it still has not made a difference with my periods. I did notice less irritability and my skin did not break out like usual! How long did it take for you to see a difference in periods? And, I have been doing just the one pump (1/4 tsp) a day for days 13-27 (2 weeks) Should I use more the second week? Or as my period gets closer? Any help is appreciated!

I am currently getting weekly shots of 17 Hydroxy Progesterone to prevent preterm labor. I am starting to feel very anxious, moody and overwhelmed with everything as I did when I took prometrium at the first of my pregnancy. Do the shots have the same side effects?? Has anyone else experienced this?

I’m looking to try new ideas for TTC. I’ve been trying naturally without a doctor for about 14 months now. i tried Evening Primrose oil to increase cervical mucus but It made my cycle a bit longer so I stopped that. i’m not sure what’s causing my inability to get pregnant but I’m thinking that progesterone may help if I’m estrogen dominant because I get really bad PMS. So i will like to hear from those who have used Progesterone Cream. And I heard about soft cups but would like to hear from those who’s had success using it. Any other ideas would be appreciated, Thanks in advance!

I’ve been taking Tylenol 3 for pain and im on the "mini pill" a progesterone only pill. Since I was breastfeeding. I stopped breastfeeding and continued taking both medications. About a week and a half ago I started feeling nauseous and now whenever I smell food I want to vomit. Obviously I know pregnancy symptoms but that’s not my question. Can Tylenol with codine affect the birth control.

What are the monomers that make up steroids like testosteron, estradiol (estrogen), and progesterone?
