how can one get ovarian cancer after removal of ovaries?
Several cancer sites warn of increased risk for ovarian cancer following surgical ovaries removal. Sounds like an oxymoron but evidently it’s not. What does it mean?

I’m a little worried about osteoporosis. Me being a dancer, and underweight makes me more at risk. So, I am starting to count my calcium intake and i’m making an effort to drink more milk, and eat more dairy etc… but I just can’t give up my Diet Pepsi’s. It’s the only un-healthy thing in my diet. Does it really contribute to osteoporosis? And if it does, how? How can I reverse the damage? I want facts and proof.
Thank you.
Hi everyone,
Since July, I have been having unusual vaginal discharge. It’s yellowish in color, and it usually comes morning or early afternoon. Somedays I get a lot of it, other days hardly any. It is not ichy or painful. (I get occasional vaginal iching, but nothing that seems out of the ordinary. I went to see my doctor, and he said he couldn’t find anything wrong. He told me he didn’t think I needed to do anything about it.
Sooooo…has anyone heard of this before. Ladies, have any of you dealt with this?
I should add…I have only ever slept with one person and we’ve been together for three years (we’re engaged now) so I’m at very low risk for STD’s. I was actually tested for STD’s twice this summer (because of the discharge) and nothing came up.
Also…this isn’t a yeast infection. I’ve had those before. In this case, however, I took yeast infection medicine several times and it didn’t help. The doctor’s tests turned up no yeast.
I’m 27 years old. And the doctor I saw was an OBGYN.
Can it put the woman in risk? Osteoporosis runs in my family so I was wondering.
love,
momo
I was reading on the encyclopidia that one of the side effects for womand with menopause from taking estrogen can be dementia. I wonder if there is the same risk for a healthy woman who has natural levels of estrogen but is taking more.
I have a friend who has had an array of gynecological infections since August (Chlamydia, yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis (twice), a couple molluscum contagiousum outbreaks and now a suspected UTI) She has been in a monogamous relationship since last summer. Is there any reason she should be that susceptible to infection? What could she do to lower her risk (besides the obvious of always using a condom). Could there be a bigger problem underlying all these infections?
I have just been diagnosed with fibroid tumors (multiple). After looking around on the internet, I see that overweight people are more at risk to have them. If I lost weight will that help my issue?
Also, will I still be able to conceive a child with fibroids?
Why are there so many risk if these crystalized pellets are all natural?
What are some of the warning sings and symptoms & How can you prevent it? I’m 15 and I have low estrogen levels which makes you at higher risk of getting Osteoporosis, and lately my knees have been feeling achey and weak. How can I prevent from getting it?
I am a college student who loves to run. I usually run 4-6 miles 6 days a week, and am 5’5 at 112 lbs. I also dont eat a lot of meat. I haven’t gotten my period for almost 2 years and realize that I must do so to reduce my risk for developing osteoperosis in the future. My doctor recommended birth control, but I really do not want to take it for several reasons, one being the side affects that result from pumping my body full of hormones. Is there another way to increase my estrogen levels and start menstruating again? I think if I try to gain about 5 lbs that should start things flowing again, but that’s easier said than done considering I eat a lot now (I have to walk a lot plus the running). Are there any other suggestions for me, or any tips to help me "thicken" up without "jelling up"? Thanks!
My mother and my dad’s mother (so it’s on both sides of my family) had breast cancer. My mom keeps telling me that birth control pills will increase my already higher-risk of developing cancer, since birth control pills mess with your hormones.
Is it true? If I take birth control, will it increase my chances of getting cancer? Because my mom had a breast cancer that was hormone receptive.
I’ve had a complete hysterectomy in ’94 and have taken Estradiol – 1 mg., 1 tab. daily since (& now over 65 yrs of age). Have recently been concerned of long term side effects such as breast cancer, etc., but have also heard it can prevent heart attacks & osteoporosis. Which has the greater risk?

I’m 17 and I am thinking of using them but I read in several websites that they are a potential risk to health. Ex. Toxic Shock Syndrome. In another website I read that a yeast infection occurred b/c fibers of the Tampax Pearl came off and accumulated over time. Is this possible? Thanks a lot for the help.
I was placed on hormone replacement because of early menopause from surgery removing the uterus along with my tubes. I am really concerned because of the risk of breast cancer. My doctor (gyn) does not seem concerned. Has anyone taken the HRT and discontinued after some lenght of time? I want to discontinue the pills. What are the effects of discontinuing the hormone replacement? Thank you.
I am now 53 years old and was put on the HRT because of the effects of early .menopause. I am concerned with having taken them for a long time. The hysterectomy was about 10 years ago. With an inactive thyroid, my hormones were just about none. Does the benefit outweigh the risk? Is there someone that has experienced the same situation? Thank you for the input.
