My Japanese friend is traveling to Australia for a year’s working holiday, She’s high risk for cervical cancer, and needs to be checked for HPV, and have a pap smear every three months. Can anyone tell us how much these procedures cost, both with and without insurance? Hopefully, she won’t let her insurance lapse, but there’s always a chance, and she needs to know how much it will set her back.

Is ovulation another word for your menstruation cycle or your period? Does ovulation mean you’re pregnant? Also, is it normal to have a very little amount of white discharge everyday when you pee after when you have sex?

I am aware this covers pregnancy prevention such as birth control but does the family planning also cover pregnancy and prenatal care?

condoms are to keep from having a family, so why is it called family planning when condoms are for keeping away kids?

We were asked (forced, really) to make a 20-page comic about Family Planning as a project for the Health subject. I am planning for it to be a funny comic but with something-important-you-can-learn-from factor. Please help
Sorry if it’s in the wrog category. And I am only in 2nd year HS.

My [very painful (which is normal for me)] period ended last week Thursday (red blood) and immediately after that, I’ve been getting brown spotting. I looked it up and I see a lot of people say it’s just old blood. But it’s still going on now. So almost 1 week of brown spotting. It’s kind of off and on, too. Is this normal?
My periods started many years ago and it’s never happened till now.
Thanks!

I have horrible dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps) caused by a condition that I have called a retroverted uterus. This causes periods to be extra painful, and often on the first day I get really sweaty and faint and I cannot concentrate, and usually medicine does not help. I have heard that giving birth feels like period cramps times 100, so maybe what I experience is somewhat like birth (but a little less painful). Is this true?

A sensitive question which has always bugged me and I’ve read mixed revues on the subject, very few are honest, in my opinion…
I’ve seen pelvic exams done on youtube with speculum and manual using gloved fingers and ky gel, I think there must be some pleasure from it, rather than pain, I try to put it into perspective, if ky was used on me, it would definitely arouse me. Surely it is the same for women?

What quality of image is good enough for spotting problems with an infrared camera?
Mostly talking about pumps, motors, heaters and plumbing for housing and pools.
Any camera recommendation?

i’m 17 and i’ve never been to a gyno. I went to a walk in medical center for an ear infection and she let me know that they do gynecological exams and other stuff. it caught my attention because i think i might have BV, and recently started getting white clumpy discharge as well as itching/burning so I might have a yeast infection on top of it, too. (sucks, i’m not even sexually active). Anyway, i am scared about my first exam, and i wanted to know if there is any disadvantage to going to a walk in clinic over a strictly gynecological clinic? are they less qualified? or is everyone equally qualified to do gynecological exams? these symptoms are very bothersome and i really really don’t want to be misdiagnosed.
ps, can you have 2 infections on top of each other? ugh that makes me feel so nasty.

I’m going away to prison for awhile i think. I’ve had some "female issues" from time to time, and I was wondering if you can have gyno exam in prison? If so, do you get one on arrival or do you wait? Is it comparable to going to see a gynecologist on the outside?

Unfortunately, due to a lot of stress I haven’t had my period since December 27, I’m only 17 so I know its not menopause and hopefully nothing serious. So I’m going to the gynecologist for the first time soon to make sure everything is okay and hopefully get this problem fixed quickly. But I have a few questions on what the normal appointment consists of, what procedures they do, what I need to be prepared for and what I might need to do at home to be ready for the appointment? Please don’t be perverted in your answers.
