I have no thyroid. If the world were to end tomorrow and I had no access to my Synthroid, how long would it take for me to die? Is there anything I could eat, etc. that could save my life?

prescription discount cards?

Where can you find a GOOD prescription drug card offering free or a large discount on prescription
meds. namely estraderm and synthroid.

I took a saliva test that showed Estradiol less than 1 -low and Progesterone 52.4 – low. The interpretation was that the results reflected "estrogen deficiency and dominance symptoms. Estradiol and progesterone may be warranted". Consistant with anovulatory cycle.

I am new to all this. My biggest issue is that my blood sugar keeps dropping dangerously low during my period and when I "should" be ovulating. My periods are a little off, not too bad though. The hot flashes and mood swings are rough.

Should I take a Natural Progesterone Cream. What about Estradiol…is that in cream form too? Have you had experience with any of these creams? Sorry if the questions are silly, I’m new to all of this and really want to get better. I want off this medical roller coaster.
I agree with much of what you just posted. I eat organic (whenever humanly always), I take Synthroid only (because I was too young to realize that radioactive iodine wasn’t my best option). I try to avoid chemicals, additives and dyes. I can certainly improve on some areas, but does appear that something is causing the imbalance. The symptoms can all be lived with, except the blood sugar drops during my cycle. They are beyond scary. I don’t want to use a synthetic hormone treatment., but I am considering a Natural Progesterone Cream. Do you know of a better option in addtion to making some lifestyle improvements?

Question for ladies about female health.?

I am 39 soon to be 40…on birth control…but having alot of problems that I am not sure of…I am always tired, have a lot of spotting the whole month mostly when I go #2, some lower pelvice pain, bloated feeling somtimes, get moody a lot, weight gain more in my mid section, getting a little memory problems…..just feel like crap anymore! I was told I had endometriosis, I do take synthroid which was checked 3 months ago and adjusted up higher….Could this be the beginning of perimenopause?? Or does it sound like I need to see the doctor again?? My last visit was in August and all was fine…I was on lexapro a short time last summer for anxiety (so he says). I just haven’t felt that well the last year! Any help??? Ideas?? Or am I just getting old! Thanks!

I have hypothyroidism and have had bright red vaginal bleeding on and off for months with no regular menses. My gynecologist said I haven’t been ovulating and prescribed Provera for 5 days. Before I finished the course, the bleeding became heavier and it has continued for over a week but it’s still bright red blood — nothing like normal menses and with no other symptoms. Is this normal? I’m waiting for an appointment with him and just wondering if I should do something else with such heavy bleeding.
Depo Provera is used for birth control and is not the same as Provera which is an oral medication which is synthetic progesterone used as a form of hormone replacement therapy supposed to prevent the overgrowth or uterine lining.

I am being treated (but probably undertreated) for hypothyroidism with Synthroid.

Unfortunately, it takes 2-3 months to get an appointment with a specialist around here so I’m in the waiting period (pardone the pun) for an endocrinologist. One more month to go till my appointment.

The gynecologist I saw was while hospitalized for unrelated diverticulitis. I have an appointment set with him in 6 weeks.
No, I don’t have polycystic ovaries. That would have been noticed during the ultrasound the gynecologist did.

Synthroid is a name of prescription drug used to treat hypothyroidism and pituitary TSH suppression. Hypothyroidism is a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. Without this hormone, the body cannot function properly, resulting in poor growth, slow speech, lack of energy, weight gain, hair loss, dry thick skin, and increased sensitivity to cold. When taken correctly, synthroid reverses these symptoms. Synthroid has levothyroxine as its generic drug.

Synthroid has many forms so far, which are:
1.25 mcg tablet
2.50 mcg tablet
3.75 mcg tablet
4.88 mcg tablet
5.100 mcg tablet
6.112 mcg tablet
7.125 mcg tablet
8.137 mcg tablet
9.150 mcg tablet
10.175 mcg tablet
11.200 mcg tablet
12.300 mcg tablet

Synthroid is intended to replace a hormone that is normally produce by your thyroid gland. Generally, replacement therapy is to be taken for life. So use synthroid as prescribed by your doctor, don’t discontinue or change the amount you take or how often you take it, unless directed to do so by your physician. When you take synthroid, take it in a single dose, preferably on an empty stomach, 1½ to 1 hour before breakfast. It takes several weeks to get an improvement in your symptoms. For pregnant mom, notify your doctor the condition, it’s likely that your dose will need to be increased.

Synthroid side effects that could possibly appear are:
Fever
Headache
Tremors
Diarrhea
Vomiting

Synthroid is the 5th most prescribed medicine in the united states. As mention above, synthroid has levothyroxine as its generic drug. You can use this generic drug to save your money when you want buy synthroid. For simple prove, I will show you how can you save using levothyroxine as generic drug.

I have thyroid disease and I am taking synthroid for it. If I start to get hot I will break out into a sweat. It is like a hot flash. I don’t have night sweats so I know I am over the menopause thing. Does anyone out there do the same thing that has thyroid disease? This is very bothersome to me… a real drag!
