We are both 43 – She had cancer and finished treatment, but it sent her into menopause. She can’t get hormone replacement therapy, and basically told me "sorry, too bad, we are at a different phase of our life and get used to it." We have two young children and divorce is really not an option.
We already have gone 9 months with almost no sex – its been three months since she finished treatments
And how is this a choice between sex and my wife’s life?????

My current endocrinologist doesn’t have much experience when it comes to HRT for transsexuals. I would like to enlighten him how much I should be taking being a trans-woman. I get a 150mg every three months as regular women on birth control. Is this a significant amount? Or am I being limited?

This is kinda complicated…. Here are the details:
-I have been on Seasonale for about four years because I used to get very heavy, long periods and I did sports in high school so that was a bad combination
-i’m still on the pill but my prescription runs out soon and I want to get more so I can continue to only have my period every three months because I hate dealing with it during school
-i’m nineteen and i haven’t and don’t plan on having sex until i’m married
-the last two times i’ve gotten the prescription for the pill, i’ve had to get a gyno exam, but the last time the doctor was very rough and it hurt and was extremely uncomfortable and embarassing for me, so i don’t want to have another exam if there is any way to avoid it.
-because i’m not having sex and want the pill only to control my periods, is there a way i can get it without having to get a gynecological exam???

I have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and have been on metformin for the past three months to help regulate my hormone levels (I am not diabetic). I am trying to get pregnant, so my doctor has now added clomid and estradiol to the mix. Has anyone heard of these combinations – is it successful for most people? Thanks for your feedbacks.

I go to family planning because right now I have no insurance and it’s the only place where I can get my depo-provera injection every three months. Last time I was there, I saw a couple of girls I knew from high school and I said "What are you guys doing here?" And one of them said "Oh, what people usually come here for" So I guess I’m a bit confused. Can anyone clarify for me?

Age 40, white, female, started at at 11, one miscarriage at age 19, and one teenage child living 19 years old, always had really heavy cycles, two years ago missed a period, was given meds to start it back, went back to regular but still heavy cycles until this year, missed two or three months, then started back again with spotting a week, then gradually heavier bleeding the next week, and this week still bleeding. Three weeks of bleeding after about three months of nothing. Is this just normal for premenopause age women? Going to the doctor is not a real option at this time seeing I am out of work and have been since June of 2009. I am currently in nursing school, with only a few months left. I am out on school break, but about to go back to clinicals and need some advice on what I can do myself to help me manage this until I can get a job. Any suggestions??
Sorry about the bad spelling!

I went to see my family doctor this morning to confirm my pregnancy. I’ve been told that I am almost four weeks. The only thing that I’m worried is a miscarriage. I had one back in December at five and half weeks. I don’t know if it would happen again after three months.
How soon can I see OBGYN?

A friend of mine has not had her period for over three months. She tests every two weeks and the pregnancy results always come back negative. However, she is concerned that she might have a tubal pregnancy, which-from what I hear-are not shown on a pregnancy test-false readings. She hasn’t any signs or anything. However, she does not have insurance and does not want to go to the doctor or hospital unless if she has too-if she has a tubal pregnancy she knows this must be taken care of immediately since this is life-threatening. I neek to know the signs so she and I can be aware of them. Is there a gradual showing of symptoms or do they come at once? Also, how long after conception do these symptoms appear?
