So I was on birth control for about 9 months and during the summer my period would not stop so I was taking two to three birth control pills a day just to stop the bleeding. I went off them had a period in August and then they just stopped and I haven’t had one in three months. Can you kill your ovaries by taking to much birth control?

My last shot of depo provera expired two months ago. My worst side effect was that I had period bleeding everyday of the three months after I had the shot! I decided to not get another shot and it’s been two months where I still haven’t had a period. I would like to start birth control pills but don’t know when to since I haven’t had a period. HELP!

She is in her early 40′s now, and her doc put her on extra progesterone for her PMS, which is bad. I seem to have the same horrible PMS, and I know my hormones get out of whack. I’m beginning to get my periods back on track after Depo for 2 years, and they are 32CD…I usually start to feel PMSness right when I start ovulating.

My mother also has a bicornuate uterus, which wasn’t known until well after her three children were born. My mom didn’t know she was pregnant with me for three months because she had her "period". I think this was decidual bleeding, since that can be caused by a hormonal imbalance. I was also born footling breach, and they broke my femur on my way out via C-section. My little brother has cerebral palsy and was born three months premature.

So my question again, could these things be genetic? I am finally at a point in my life where we are TTC, but I’d like to get to know my hormones, and the risks that come with any imbalances.

Any help would be great!!

Come on, I’m on here looking for answers, don’t say go ask someone else.

Already asked my mom…she doesn’t know.

I asked at my last annual…and they didn’t really give me an answer.

hormonal imbalance / pregnancy / illness?

My boyfriend and I have had unprotected sex pretty much every other day for a little over three months now. I had a regular period starting on martin luther king day & it lasted a little longer than usual but was normal. I went to the doctor about 2 weeks ago (if that) because i had major sulfur burps, felt nauseated and like i had a cold / the flu. all the doctor said was to make an appointment with my obgyn and check about a hormonal imbalance. Now i dunno wtf that has to do with virus / cold symptoms but if you know please inform me! anyways i was due for my period feb 15th and its now the 20th..no period! just very mild, random cramps, freaky vivid dreams, sore boobs (which i never have with period) ima cranky biitch and my gums have been killing me the past couple days. hormonal imbalance? are these pregnancy signs? if not, what could they be

I’m going in for my first ultrasound this week to see if there are any existing ovarian cysts that I may have. I’ve had terribly painful cysts for the last two/three months, with pain lasting a minimum of four hours. I’m only seventeen, and would like to raise a family someday. What are my odds of infertility? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

After have the last of my four children (the last two came together) I had my tubes tied, but continued hemmoraging for three months. Since I was sure that I WAS NOT having anymore children, my doc said it would be a good procedure for me. But now I am getting hot flashes sweating like I never have before. High anxiety, insomina, depression..could this be a step into early onset menopause?

I recieved my shot of depo 2 days ago. I know antibiotics may affect it. I discontinued my antibiotics one day after getting my shot, will my birth control remain unactive for the whole three months or just a short period of time?

Is this one of the signs of entering menopause?

I’m almost 49 years old. During the past couple of years I have had two or three months out of the year where my period was two weeks late and one month where I didn’t have one at all. Is this how menopause begins?

I want to have another baby for next year, but I still taking Depo Provera every three months. How long does it take to go back normal after stop taking Depo Provera?

am i having a hormonal imbalance?again?

For the last three months, my period was regular.that was last april, may and june (29 days cycle). My expected period was on July 11, but my period did not come, I am six days delayed now. I tested when I was 2 days delayed but it turned out negative. Am I preg or just a hormonal imbalance?

My mom is now 49 years old and has been having this problem for the last 3 months…. yes, I have tried all i can to get her to go to the dr… She is having two very heavy periods every month (like i said the past three months) (large clots, and heavy bleeding), also she says her breasts are very tender to the point thats uncomfortable to sleep on her stomach or even her side.

I suggested maybe its ovarian cysts, or possibly perimenopause… Would someone who knows about this or possibly somone with experiance with similar symptoms, please share your thoughts… Thank you!

I’m in my mid forties, and had a partial hysterectomy two years ago. For a number of weeks now, I’ve detected an unusual vaginal odor when I got to the toilet. I’ve had both yeast and bacterial infections over the the years, and this odor’s different, not as offensive, but bad enough for me to feel there’s something abnormal. The thing is, I’ve put off getting it checked because I haven’t had other symptoms. There’s been no itching or burning, no discharge, no pain or discomfort in my pelvis. In fact, I’ve become very dry, which I have attributed to perimenopause. That hasn’t been an issue, as I’m not sexually active now. I did one of the home tests that indicated by ph change I might have a yeast infection, so used an OTC remedy, but no change. Neither douching nor Rephresh did any good either. I’ve gotten an appt. with my doc, but three weeks out. The only change I can think of is a a new med I’ve been on (bipolar). I just realized when I was off it briefly, the odor wasn’t present.
The medication is Lithium. I got on it about three months ago, was taken off of it for about three weeks to see if it was causing another side effect, then was put pack on it three weeks ago. But it seems unlikely to me that a psychotrophic drug would cause a change in vaginal odor.

hot flushes?

i have been on hrt for two years and have been told by my gp to come off it, ive been off it for three months now im getting hot flushes day and night what can i take to ease them.

I have advanced prostate cancer and have completed my external beam radiation, both full pelvic treatment and boost targeting the prostate only.

I have had my second hormone shot, every three months, and can’t get a straight answer out of either my Urologist or Oncologist. I have hot flashes, as most do, and chills, but my problem is the stickyness. I feel sticky, I feel that I have an odor, my wife insists I don’t, and if I lick my fingers, as you might as if you are dealing cards, my fingers stick togeather.

I see my GP next week, should I ask him to send me to OB/GYN? I know that sounds silly, a man going to one, but no one else has an answer. Maybe someone who deals with womens problems may have the answer.

Have you had this problem? How did you deal with it?
If I’m correct the hormones women take for breast cancer are different than what men take for prostate cancer.
I’m still looking for answers from men taking hormone therapy for prostate cancer.

I’ll extend this to see if any answer.
Thank you everyone, I went to my G.P. yesterday and he informed me that my reaction to the hormone shots, Trelstar LA is normal and it will go away when I am taken off hormone therapy.

Thanks again
