Is pain during your first gynecological exam normal?

I went to my first gynecological exam today because I had the signs of a yeast infection. I have never gone before because I’m young and still a virgin. When we got to the part with the speculum it was so painful, I almost started crying, he tried the smaller one and he tried three times but I couldn’t take the pain. I shouldn’t have asked him at the end of the exam if it was normal but I didn’t. So is this normal? Is the pain simply because of the infection? I also feel swollen from using Monistat which was probably the biggest mistake of my life. (Apparently Monistat is awful and hurts a lot more women than cures them.) And I took Monistat before seeing my gyno in hopes of curing myself but it just burned like crazy and made me swollen and I still hurt from using is 5 days ago. Please someone help me.

How can I fix a hormonal imbalance that I have?

What must I do to make my hormones at the normal level as they should be?
About two in a half years ago a gyno that I had, told me I had a hormonal imbalance, and I believe I still do. I have not ovulated since May of 09, and I have not been breast feeding since my toddler was about four months old…. And my breast still has a little left over ( I squeezed it once and milk like substance came out TMI sorry) And my emotions are up and down…. What is going on? Is the hormonal imbalance still there? And if so what can I do to balance my hormones again?
I want to know so, I can finely have this in control and along with my fertility.
I m only twenty one, and I need some answers….Yes, my Husband’s been trying to be supportive.

I have my period every month

I am looking to change my birth control. I am on a low dose and I was looking to change it to something with more estrogen and progesterone to keep my hormone levels more even. I’ve been on the low dose and I have had a hormone imbalance causing me some weird body issues hence the change in pills.
Weird body issues like having my period (full blown, not spotting) three times and I started having discharge out of my breasts. If anything since I’ve been on birth control, I’ve lost a lot of weight. Thanks for the tips.

Can someone out there help me,I live with three men,my husband and 2 adult children.
I feel so alone,Im going through my menopause or premenopause.
I had a disagreement with my own mother and the outcome was no contact for nearly three years,we have now patched things up,but its only patched,
I could and never would trust my Mother again,so I certainly could nt turn to her with my problems or issues in life. Her answer would be pull yourself together. Yes she is right, but things are not always that easy.
I have one special friend who I think the world of but she cant keep her mouth shut.
I love my husband he is my best friend, but he can not understand me,well I dont understand myself half the time,so how can he understand me,
I cry very easy,I never know when my period is due,as it can be once a month,or it maybe two to three times a month.
My emotion’s are all over the place,I am on H.R.T and deppression pills, which all help very much, and I help myself, always busy, work, etc etc,
I wish that my husband could live in my mind for one week. Any suggestion’s,any one else have these feeling’s or maybe there is someone out there with answer’s.
My grandmother went through a very bad time with her menopause, and I feel that Im feeling suite, any one out there having the same symptoms. I feel so alone, and I feel that Im going out my head at times.

sex prego question?!?!?!?

ok so i had unprotected sex on the 18th (8 days ago) like three times and the 19th three times also =) well on the 20th i got my period, seemed normal, except that it only lasted 3-4 days and at the end of it i had this VERY dark blood brown colored mucus like discharge (TMI sorry, but when i immediately saw it, it was something that ive never seen before, very different color) and a few days later i have (clear/white colored) discharge. im constently wetttt and everytime i wipe theres discharge (clear) . i know its too early to be getting pregnancy symptoms but like i cant stop eating, have bad headaches, dizzy, nightsweats and my pee smells very strong. is there something wrong w/ me or maybe i can be pregnant??? i hope im not getting sick!!! i like have a feeling something is wrong/different. =(

p.s. i read somewhere this girl had sex a day b4 she got her period and a few weeks later she found out she was pregnant (her doc said that her body still had the period cause the body didnt have time to "catch up" to the adjustment) iddddkkk

Personal question, women only?

i want to know why is it so important that you only have 7 days of menstrual flow? is it really dangerous to go more than 7 days and would you know why someone would have more blood coming out past 7 days maybe 12 to 14 days without any backaches or cramps or no physical problems and having no periods without any menstrual flow after three months or taking more than three times the pregnancy test of negativity proof. is there really something wrong or would it mean that a person is getting menopause? I’m curious because my friend is refusing any medical treatment for this problem she is waiting to see if this problem will go away after many times of convincing that she needs to go to the doctor. PLEASE HELP!

I have been having hot sweats day and night for two months now. I am menopausal and 53 yrs. old and have had no periods for 9 months. I also have a virus and thyroid problems. I can’t sleep at all at night and drench the bed about three times. Could this be menopause or thyroid or something else? Can you reccommend anything natural for sleep and sweats? Thanks a lot

I have been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer and this is my hormone therapy drug.

What were your side effects?

How long did you take this drug?

What other treatment did you have?

How long ago were you diagnosed?
This is a once every three months shot, to be taken no more than three times.

Along with this shot, I must take 500mg calcium and 1000mg of vitiman D. It seems that with more than three shots, brittle bones occur.
