I recently had a urinary tract infection, due to unsanitary bathroom conditions at school, and took antibiotics. though the UTI was cured, a yeast infection developed and is now the main source of discomfort. I’m planning on picking up monistat from the store, but I’m also wondering if it is okay to just let it heal naturally… and how that would work and how long. thank you.

My regular doctor is being really hard to get a hold of, but I know I can always get in with the gynecologist when I need to. Can a gynecologist help me with a UTI?

I’ve had these before and usually just a regular antibiotic makes it go away really quickly, so I just need someone to write the script.

I keep having bladder spasams and I know I don’t have a UTI because I just finished Macrobid. Is there something I can take or an herbal remedy for bladder spasams? It feels like I have to go minutes after I go but no burning when I pee.

Persistent gynecological infections?

I have a friend who has had an array of gynecological infections since August (Chlamydia, yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis (twice), a couple molluscum contagiousum outbreaks and now a suspected UTI) She has been in a monogamous relationship since last summer. Is there any reason she should be that susceptible to infection? What could she do to lower her risk (besides the obvious of always using a condom). Could there be a bigger problem underlying all these infections?

Just found out I have a UTI after a week of vaginal itching (no funny odor or clumpy discharge) and burning during urination (no sex so no STD). I’m taking an over the counter med for the infection. The burning when I pee is gone, but my vagina is still itching despite using Vagisil everyday. Why?

my bladder and uterus are aching really bad, i cant sleep. what would help with the sleeping during a uti?> i have been awake for days and am totally exhausted from fighting this. am on antibiotics.

I have had both both but I never really understood the difference. A bladder infection obviously affects your bladder opposed to your urinary tract and the UTI affects the urinary tract. How do the symptoms differ? Are they both treated the same way? Thanks

What are the symptoms of ovarian cysts?

I have never had ovarian cysts, and I don’t have medical insurance to go get it checked out if there is no reason to worry. I had a UTI recently and don’t know if maybe it is connected. I have a sharp pain that comes and goes in the left side of my lower abdomen. A friend told me it is ovarian cysts, so I am wondering, those of you who have had them, what symptoms did you experience?

Period gone wacky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Two months ago I was diagnosed with a uti and took bactrim ds for ten days. After that my period started five days early. After I ended I started seasonale but had a severe reaction and stopped two days later. I just started my period two weeks after my last one. This is bothersome because I had scheduled my vacation around my period and now I will start during it. I am not sexually active, so nothing along those lines could be causing this. Has anyone had an experience like this. Also if I do start during my vacation what can I do to treat the cramps so that I am not bedridden? And lastly could all this be because I moved back in with my mom who has been going through perimenopause and has been having irratic cycles also?

last sept 2005, i was diagnosed with uti and hormonal imbalance, i took antibiotics for my uti and provera for the hormonal imbalance. when i last visited my dr. she confirmed that i am cleared of uti but did not mention anything abt the hormonal imbalnce, i wasnt able to continue my provera for 6months, i just had it for 3months that’s why im not sure if it’s been cured. im trying to get pregnant since dec. but sad to say im still not pregnant. it could still be due to the hormonal imbalance

gynecological question?

ok so yea this sucks but i actually need help, i had an abortion about a month ago, i had it coz i am severly epileptic and im only 22 and single its messed up i know but just please if your going to answer the question just answer dont like say mean things to me. so i live with my grandmother and i didnt tell her about the abortion coz shes way against it and would kick me out if she found out i got knocked up, i had some perscriptions for tetracycline (antibiotic) and vicodin (pain killer) and it says on the perscrips that its from an obgyn but it doesnt say why, shes going to ask me what its all about what can i say? what disorder down there would cause need for antibiotics and pain killers and it has to be something other than a uti coz i thought of that and normally youd just go to a dr for that not a special obgyn clinic. thanks for the help ill choose a best answer.

gynecological exam in an ER?

Can they diagnose BV or any infection by just looking. What about an ultrasound. What about if you are on your period?
Will a urine test figure out if you have a UTI.
They said they found "nothing"
not pregnant. and pretty sure I don’t have a yeast infection
I left the same day thats why I ask if they could spot an infection by just looking.

I have unexplained bleeding.. bright red blood and it’s been off and on two weeks and each doctor tells me it’s not their place. I do not know at this point who to see. I am tempted to just go to the emergency room and let them find the right "ologist"..
IT started with a checkup with my rheumatologist and I thought I had a uti or bladder infection and from there i’ve had scans, ultrasounds, blood work and they found a cysts on the ovary.. but they say that has nothing to do with rectal bleeding. Just recently started gluten free diet.. for celiac disease and I have lupus and sjogren’s.. and premenopause…so there is a lot going on. I just don’t want to wait too late.. and everyone is ignoring this issue.. and it’s my concern. I’ve heard gastronologist, urologist and honestly I don’t know as this was from the rheumatologist and the gynecologist.. ANY HELP? I"ve been online.. but not sure who I need to call.. not sure too if it’s okay to just let it be.. confused. thanks for any info
THanks for all who gave real answers. There was no easy way to put this.. so if you thought it was too much .. sorry but it’s just you had to explain some of it.. as it’s not one thing going on. IF you don’t have an autoimmune illness you might not understand how everything can tie into something else..meds, diet the whole bit. That was the reason for more info. I appreciate the info.. and there were most of you agreeing proctologist.. and no doctor said that. Thank you.

Please explain your situation after surgery. I have had kidney infections six months after a hysterectomy. I have been on anti biotics ever since. This has gone on for two years. Doctors don’t know why. Has anyone gotten better? Has any one gotten healed from uti’s and kidney infections? If so how?

Did the Drug Make My Blood Pressure Go Up?

Three weeks ago I had a UTI. The doctor put me on Bactrim DS for 10 days and it did the trick. He told me to take the following every day to prevent recurrence:

500 mg Vitamin C
500 mg Cranberry
2 teaspoons of baking soda in a glass of water,
twice a day

I haven’t had a recurrence but my blood pressure has gone sky high! Could any or all of these be causing it? What about the Bactrim? I can’t find any info about how long it stays in your system. While taking it I developed nightsweats and a metallic taste in my mouth which is going away but still bothers me. Thanks for any help.
