Its not uncommon after a surgical procedure in the abdominal region. I had this problem after my tubal and after my hysterectomy. It took a few weeks to get completely gone. I believe its from the gas that they use to insuffulate your abdomen, but I’m not a doctor. It definitely happens though after a surgery and I would say its taken a few weeks or so to go completely away or at least show a good improvement. But I would add that it depends on your bowel movements as well. If your not going to the bathroom regularly, that could be a problem and perhaps causing some of the bloating.
I had a hysterectomy in January and the bloating took months to go down, you will have to just let your body recover in it’s own time. It’s different for everyone. If you’ve got pains with the gas, peppermint is good. Just make sure you get plenty of fresh fruit and veg and drink lots of water and gentle exercise when you’re ready. I ended up going back to the hospital a couple of weeks after the op and was found to have an infection under the wound. If you get too much pain see your doctor or the hospital.
