What to expect from my first visit to the gynecologist?
I am 18 and have been sexually active for 3 months. My appointment with the gynecologist is in just under a week and I was wondering what to except from my first checkup as I am a little unsure and a little nervous.
Thankyou all so much!

okay that idiot is a weirdo lol
anyway nothing to worry about. she’ll tell you to put your your feet up on these things attached to the chair so your legs are spread. she’ll ask if your sexually active. she will stick this metal thing in your vagina to get a better look and they always stick cotton swabs up your vagina to test if your ph level and she might even check for stds (they always do this just to be thorough) you might feel a little crampy since this is your very first time but really its not bad at all.
they are very skilled at pleasuring the ladies
You are smart to think ahead and learn what to expect. Make a list of the questions you have before you go, so you don’t forget any of your important questions.
Your doctor/health care provider will likely do a general physical exam and also a breast exam. You probably will need to have a pelvic exam (check of your internal female organs) at this first visit, because you are sexually active. Besides the doctor/health care provider, there will be a nurse or other assistant in the room during your exam. You can also choose to have someone you know come in the room, if you like. If you need more privacy, it is not necessary to have anyone else in the room. This is your choice.

goodluck!
They will ask you a few questions about your sex life and how many partners you have had. Then you either just take your pants off or put on a gown and lay on the table and put your feet in stirrups.
Make sure you are far down the table when you get on that way the doctor doesnt ask you to move closer (its pretty awkward).
After the doctor does that part they will usually check your ovaries by pressing on your stomach and then a small breast examine.
Try not to be to tense or it will hurt and I wish you all the best that it is a plastic thingy and not a metal one.
It takes about 2 minutes altogether, it feels pretty uncomfortable but most people get it done and its really important to get one each year. Many women don’t go as often as they should and then end up dying of cancer when it could have been prevented.
Just let the doctor know its your first time and they will guide you through it. Remember they do this all the time so no need to be embarrassed
