because of the pipe. The cold water gets drained momentarily to the flushing system, hence a shower turns slightly hotter for the moment.
Cause the toilet uses cold water to refill and the water in the shower doesn’t get that cold water mix until the toilet is done filling
You must have weak cold water pressure to your shower. So when you flush the toilet its taking the cold water away from the shower leaving you with hot water.
Obviously the shower and the toilet are fed off the same water line. You could Have a larger pipe installed from the main to the toilet-shower split or run 2 seperate pipes. I would have A plummer check it .
chances are that the toilet and the shower are fed from the mains and so the pressure is reduced a little when the toilet cistern is refilled after the flush, so less cold water into the shower = hotter shower.
This wouldn’t happen if either was fed from the tank in the loft.
cold water on the same line i think
Cold water is required for both operations. You do not have enough water supply.
By todays plumbing codes each fixture should have its own 1/2" supply running off a common manifold or a 3/4" pipe should be supplying water and 1/2" branches off that for each use will solve the problem.
both solutions will solve the problem.
Like everyone said, you’re starving the shower of cold water.
You don’t have enough water pressure. If this is an old house, it is likely your old pipes are full of mineral deposits which restrict water flow.
Ours was so bad if someone was in the shower, you couldn’t get a trickle out of the sink without hearing screams from the shower. It took FOREVER to get the shower hot in the first place because the water ran so slow.
We got new water service from the street, and now we can run the dishwasher, washing machine, and shower at the same time, and not worry about someone flushing a toilet.
